What things do I need to know and what skills do I need to have to become a game designer im only 13 but i know its what i want to do so what do i need for when i grow up

I am also 13 and in the exact same predicament as u. What I have found out is that u will need to go to university and study computer software and some other specific courses... Hope this helped
