When you bring up the world of warcraft game launcher you press play but nothing happens

First, try the repair utility that comes with WoW. If that don't work, try re-installing it all together. Or you can just by-pass the launcher all together and start wow directly by clicking on the wow.exe file in your wow program folder (not sure the program name or location for mac users, sorry).
