What are relics in World of Warcraft

Relics are items specific to certain classes, which are equipped in the relic slot. This slot would normally hold a wand (for caster classes) or a gun (for warriors, rogues and hunters).

The type of relic you can equip is limited to your class. Paladins can use Librams, Shamans can use Totems, Druids use Idols and Death Knights use Sigils.

Relics are very rarely simple stat boosts, it is more common for them to give you special bonuses when you use a class ability. For instance, a paladin tank with the Libram of Defiance equipped with receive a bonus to Dodge when using one of his common tanking abilities.
