When is Star Trek Online coming out

Unfortunately, it's not coming out at all. The game was officially cancelled on January 14 of this year, and all the developers who had been working on the game were fired on January 18.
Edited on Feb 20, 2009: Actually, the game's not cancelled at all. Its license was just transferred from Perpetual Entertainment to Cryptic Studios. No one knows for sure when STO will come out. A few forums say that it will come out in fall 2009, and others say summer 2010. At the Star Trek convention back in August, 2008, Jack Emmert (Crypic's chief creative officer) said that it would definitely come out within 3 years. Apparently, Cryptic is using the same engine for their new game Champions, so all they have to do is add the content for us to play. If you want a personal guesstimate, I'd say summer 2010 looks best. If it came out any sooner, there wouldn't be enough content for it to be worthwhile. It's killing me to wait, but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Cryptic is really going all out with this game. If you want to stay updated with STO, you can check out their site at www.startrekonline.com.
