What language is needed to be known in order to create games that are installed and played on the computer

There is no one language. Many hundreds of different programming languages exist, all capable of making software and/or games.



C, C++, C#, Visual Basic, Assembly, Ruby, Pascal, Basic, etc. Just to name a few popular ones.
