How do you fly a jet in second life
All jets vary slightly in control and handling depending on age, design and builder. For a typically standard second life jet the controls will be:-
'start' / 'stop' for the engine
'E' Throttle increase
'C' Throttle decrease
Arrow left: roll on the left
Arrow right: roll on the right
'G' open / close landing gears
'B' toggles on and off at low speed
'w1' switch light winds and turbulences on
'w2' switch heavy winds and turbulences on
'w' to switch wind off
'refuel' if gasoline empty
SHIFT+LEFT/RIGHT to roll the plane (if NOT in mouse look)
Take off speed: throttle 70-80%
Minimum cruising speed: 60%
Final approach with: 50%
Touch down: throttle 40%
When flying a jet it is important to remember to slow down for sim crossings, flying across sim borders at high speed can cause your system to crash and log you out. You may need to reset your draw distance to extend you view of your surroundings; this is especially useful for landing the jet. Too high a draw distance setting can cause excessive lag.
