Can you get chao in sonic xd

If you mean sonic adventure dx then yes, there are three chao gardens,
1st one is located in station square, head for the hotel and move near the elevators, one of them should open and take you to chao garden number 1. there you will find the chao shop and chao races.
2nd one is located in the mystic ruins. head for tails workshop only don't head up the steps. instead keep on heading through the two cliffs, you should then find a cave, inside the cave should be a mine cart, jump in the mine cart and you'll go to chao garden number 2.
3rd garden is located in the egg carier, go inside not using the train but this sort of platform. any way, once your inside head to one side of the room and you should find a door with some leters in front of it, with the letters spell of e.g.g.m.a.n and the door will open, inside there should be a platform. step on it and you'll go to chao garden number 3.
