Where does the name fuchsia come from

it is most likely to have come from the colour fuschia, which is an orangey-peach colour, as was the hue of the buildings and ground of fuschia city in the original blue, red and yellow Pokemon games.
an alternative would be from the flower fuschias, and the game designer may have been a fan of gardening :-)
