Who in real life invented the game duel monsters

If you read almost any card closely, you'll see that there is a (C)1996 Kazuki Takahashi on the bottom right. This was the person who created the game. It was originally a shot manga (In our terms, a Japanese comic), that Takahashi made but people got curious of how the game works, thus the invention of Duel cards.
