How do you change the point of view in Metal Gear Solid snake eater

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater is constantly in a "bird-eye" perspective, there is no way to change the point of view, except of course pressing the first person view button (R1).

However you can play the game in a third person perspective by purchasing the special edition of the game called Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence.
