Why is it called SSJ instead of just SS in Dragon Ball Z

Well, that's because (I think it was In Japanese or something) it was Super Saiya-Jin, so it was SSJ, as opposed to now, just Super Saiyan (or as some people spell it, seiyan) so either way i guess is correct!
