Can you have more then 3 dogs on nintendodogs

You can only have 3 in your house but in total you can have 8 you have to keep the rest in the dog hotel but you can switch your dogs anytime you want but make sure you leave at least one dog in the dog hotel before buying a new one if you don't like a dog any more you can donate it to the dog hotel.
