Dark Souls 2 Axes



Bandit Axe –
It is part of the Brigand Armour set which is the starting armour for the Bandit class. Alternatively, it can be found in a chest in No-Man’s Wharf near a Pharros Lockstone Contraption. On rare occasions spiders will drop it in lower Brightstone Cove. It requires 18 Strength and 5 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 125 physical damage.

Battle Axe – It can be purchased from Blacksmith Lenigrast in Majula for 1500 souls. It requires 15 Strength and 5 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 115 physical damage.

Bound Hand Axe – This was available upon pre-ordering Darks Souls 2 but can be purchased from Chancellor Wellager for 8000 souls. He can be found in Drangleic Castle. It requires 15 Strength and 7 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 90 physical damage and causes 67 bleeding for additional damage.

Butcher's Knife – This is a Boss Soul Weapon. When you kill The Rotten you will collect its soul. Trade The Rotten’s soul with Weaponsmith Ornifex in Brightstone Cove Tseldora to unlock this axe. It requires 25 Strength and 8 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 120 physical damage and can absorb HP from your enemies.

Dragon Slayer's Crescent Axe – Kill the Flexile Sentry in the Shaded Woods (by the Ruined Fork Road bonfire) and you will find this axe on a corpse behind him. Don’t worry; he’s a weaker opponent than the Flexile Sentry boss. It requires 18 Strength and 12 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 133 physical damage.

Gyrm Axe – This axe swings differently than other axes. It’s swung from over the shoulder with the intention of crushing your foes into the ground. It can be found in the Doors of Pharros area, on a corpse (near the Gyrm’s Respite bonfire) or by looting killed Dwarfs. It requires 28 Strength and 6 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 190 physical damage.

Hand Axe – This can be purchased from Merchant Hag Melentia for 700 souls. You can find her in the Forest of Fallen Giants near the Cardinal Tower bonfire. It is also part of the starting equipment of the Bandit class. It requires 9 Strength and 3 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 110 physical damage.

Infantry Axe – This can also be found in the Forest of Fallen Giants, dropped by Hollow Infantry. It requires 13 Strength and 4 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 100 physical damage.

Dark Souls 2 Greataxes



Bandit Greataxe – Found in The Gutter. You will eventually reach a bridge with another bridge above you. Cross the lower bridge and bare left. Drop down the ledges and follow the path to a zip-line. Below the zip-line is a pot. Break the pot to reveal a corpse that has this greataxe. It requires 28 Strength and 8 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 150 physical damage.

Black Dragon Greataxe – This is dropped by the Dragon Knights (the gold-plated enemies) in the Dragon Shrine. It requires 35 Strength and 15 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 156 physical damage.

Black Knight Greataxe - Found in the Iron Keep. Pull the lever by the Ironhearth Hall bonfire to access a ladder that leads to a roof. Fight 3 Alonne Knights and the greataxe can be found in the chest behind them. It requires 40 Strength, 18 Dexterity, 10 Intelligence and 10 Faith to handle. It is capable of dealing 226 physical damage.

Crescent Axe – This is dropped by fallen Petrified Dogs at the entrance of Aldia’s Keep. It requires 25 Strength and 14 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 120 physical damage.

Drakekeeper's Greataxe – Inside the Dragon Shrine. Once you have defeated the second large knight follow the steps under the left archway. Take the bridge to the gazebo and destroy the sorcerer that stands in your way. There will be a nearby rooftop with a chest that can be accessed with a running jump. The axe is inside the chest. It requires 15 Strength and 7 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 190 physical damage.

Giant Stone Axe – Once you have unpetrified Straid of Olaphis you can trade the Soul of the Last Giant + 1500 souls to unlock this greataxe. You can find Straid of Olaphis in the Lost Bastille. It requires 45 Strength and 8 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 160 physical damage.

Greataxe – It can be purchased from Steady Hand McDuff in the Lost Bastille for 6200 souls. It requires 32 Strength and 10 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 195 physical damage.

Gyrm Greataxe – This greataxe is given as a gift by Lonesome Gavlan after you spend 15000 souls buying poison arrows from him. He can be found at Doors of Pharros, but before that he can be located at Harvest Valley or No-Man’s Wharf. CAUTION: if he dies in No-Man’s Wharf it will cost 3500 to talk to his gravestone. It requires 50 Strength and 8 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 180 physical damage.

Lion Greataxe – Dropped by the Lion Clan Warriors in the Shaded Forest. It requires 30 Strength and 8 Dexterity to handle. It is capable of dealing 145 physical damage.
