Zeratul, the Dark Prelate Skills and Abilities - Heroes of the Storm


Zeratul, the Dark Prelate is an assassin from the Starcraft licence. The enigmatci Dark Templar faithfully serves the Xel'Naga. While he expertly wields the powers of the Void, it is his wisdom that earns him the respect of the Koprulu sector's greatest leaders.


There I am, in the shadows

Zeratul is a dark templar, a renowned psionic warrior and assassin whose forbears were exiled from the protoss homeworld of Aiur over a thousand years ago. The dark templar refused to submerge themselves in the communal protoss mind link, the Khala, preferring instead to strive as individuals. Zeratul holds the rank of prelate and is probably best known for his role in ensuring the survival of the protoss since the zerg threat first became apparent.

It was Zeratul who for the first time managed to heal the rift between the Aiur Protoss and the Dark Templars and overcame the prejudices of Tassadar when they met the Char. It was Zeratul who was first to slay a Zerg Cerebrate even though they were thought immortal. It was he again who returned to Aiur with Tassadar to put an end to the oppressive reign of the Conclave and reunite the two rival branches of the Protoss.

Zeratul continued his combat alongside Tassadar while the Zergs invaded Aiur and lead the evacution operations to the world of the Dark Templars, Shakuras, when it was clear that the planet was lost. He also put an end to the plans of the Dark Archon Ulrezaj who wanted to destroy the Protoss of Aiur.

But Zeratul alos has his share of burdens. Aiur was a secret world and when Zeratul killed the first Cerebrate, his spirit became linked to the Zerg Overmind which was able to read the location of the original world of the Protoss and prepare its invasion. Zeratul also has a complicated with Kerrigan, the Queen of Blades. Manipulated and betrayed more than once by the Zerg queen, Zeratul was one of the most important involuntary protagonists in her rise to the throne of the mutant race. 

But what concerns Zeratul above all is the discovery that he made in the lab of a former agent of the Queen of Blades, the enigmatic Samir Duran. The scientist was involved in the process of creating a Zerg/Protoss hybrid and although Zeratul destroyed his lab and put an end to his plans, Duran was revealed to be an agent of a "much higher power" than the Queen of Blades and one of many... Troubled by these revelations, Zeratul exiled himself to cast light on this entity hidden in the depths of the void that threatened all creation...


Zeratul's Abilities: He's behind you!

Zeratul is a very mobile assassin who can use his invisibility to easily position himself within range of vulnerable targets and burst them with his arsenal of spells, dealing heavy damage. He will also be particularly difficult to catch without a brutal CC, since his Blink has a short CD, allowing him to get out of complicated situations.

Zeratul automatically cloaks when out of combat for 2.5 seconds. Taking damage or attacking reveals him.

(Q) Cleave

- 40 Mana
- AoE
- Cooldown: 6 seconds


Deals 415 (92 + 17 per level) damage to nearby enemies.

(W) Singularity Spike

- 60 Mana
- Cooldown: 12 seconds


Flings a Singularity spike towards the target that sticks to the first enemy it contacts. Deals 500 (120 + 20 per level) damage after 1 second and slows the enemy by 40% for 3 seconds.

(E) Blink

- 75 Mana
- Cooldown: 10 seconds


Teleports to the target location. Using this ability does not break cloak.

(R)  Shadow Assault

- 100 Mana
- Heroic Ability
- Cooldown: 100 seconds
- Duration: 6 seconds


Gains +25% Attack Speed, 15% life steal on auto attacks, and charges enemies.

(R) Void Prison

- 100 Mana
- Heroic Ability
- Cooldown: 100 seconds


Traps targets for 5 seconds. Heroes, Minions, and Structures trapped become invulnerable. Zeratul cannot target himself with this spell.
