Guardian Hunter Background Info

As you step foot into Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG for the first time, you will be met with the hunter selection screen. Before starting your journey into the beautiful lands of Bellia, you will have to choose between the available three hunter classes: Warrior, Archer and Sorceress. Each hunter has separate skill trees and fight in an entirely different style than the others. Don’t be too overwhelmed by this though, as you can swap to another hunter any time from the main screen later on.

Warriors are your general fighting class, who like to be up close and personal with their enemies, slashing and crushing them to pieces. They use close combat skills, have high armor and high health to sustain a lot of blows.

Archers are hunters with ranged weapons such as crossbows, but they also have a high critical hit chance from the start. They use stylish ranged skills and attacks to take down any foe from a safe distance.

The last hunter class, Sorceress is your mage type character, who has a ranged staff attack with splash damage. Their main focus are on spells though, such as icy rain or chain lightning to shatter any opposition.

Hunters in Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG never work alone, so even as a newbie you will have your own guardians as backup. Guardians can be any type of monsters, who are converted during battle, or acquired from a summon scroll. Your guardian might be a vampire, a mushroom, a chameleon, a giant golem, pirates, dimension travelers and much more! The variety is almost endless, with over 300 different guardians available.

Now, we know about guardians and the hunter classes, but what is the point of the game? Of course, you will have to fight your way through countless levels, with the help of up to two guardians. Choosing the Stages button on the main screen will take you to the adventure map, where you will be able to progress from one level to another, after finishing the previous one. Each level will have a set number of basic enemies and a boss to defeat, and treasure rewards at the end of it. Treasure rewards can be magical stones or equipment such as accessories, armor or weapons, while you also gain gold from defeated enemies during levels.

All levels also include 3 challenges unique to them, such as completing the level under 2 minutes, being hit less than 8 times by enemies and clearing the level with the best possible rank. Starting any level on the world map will require one stamina, but it will restore over time.

Each chosen level will include information on what kind of enemies you can convert to guardians in it, making it easier to hunt down your most wanted ones. Of course all stages have multiple difficulty levels: Normal, Hard and Elite. After finishing Normal, you will be able to take on Hard, then Elite for even better rewards and new type of guardians to find. Simply vanquishing all these levels wouldn’t be such a big feat though, so Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG also has different kind of encounters ready for players.

New encounters include three types of dungeons: Dungeons on the world map, which take much longer than a simple level, but also are harder and include better treasure. Then there is the Infinite Dungeon unlocked at level 5, which is a challenge level where you have to survive as long as possible, while killing hordes of attackers under a time limit, regaining time for each dead enemy. After you die, your final score will rank you on the leaderboards as well. The third type of dungeons are the daily ones, which are reset each day and include different enemies, guardians to collect and rewards depending on the day.

If you wish for an even greater challenge, then there are the extra hard Boss Raids, unlocked from level 15, where you can raid a boss with a team of 8 guardians or can even invite friends to help you out. The best rewards in the game are found here, but it’s not an easy trick to finish these raids, as it requires planning ahead.

If you wish to challenge other players, you can also try out the Guardian Arena unlocked at level 10, a player versus player mode where you can set up a team of 5 and fight against another player’s team. The winner receives rewards and the glory of victory.

As you progress with your character in Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG, you will also gain levels, which will unlock new skill upgrades and train options. The skill upgrades menu can unlock new skills or upgrade existing ones for your current hunter. The Sorceress for example can unlock the Vision Meteor, Chain Lightning, Icicle Rain, Disport, Dash Clash, Thunderbolt and Windmill skills. Training your hunter on the other hand is done in the form of passives, such as more weapon damage, skill damage, critical strike chance, max HP or max SP. Skill upgrades and training both cost gold, depending on the level of your chosen skills and passives.

Your guardians will need to keep their levels close to yours as well to remain useful, but leveling them works differently. You have to train your guardians manually, by making them consume other guardians, gaining experience for each. There are also types of guardians which are only meant to be used for training others, but can’t fight on their own. Most guardians can also be evolved into a new type, by feeding them the indicated type of other guardians.

Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG also has a heavy focus on social interactions and the community, so you can add people to your friends list, then use their guardians as aid on levels. You could even join a guild, which also includes similar benefits, such as using guildmates’ guardians, guild chat and an easier way to organize boss raids for example. Then there is the global chat, which you can access from anywhere in the game to communicate with others to ask for help or just chat and make new friends.

The daily and continuation quests feature is also entwined with your friends list, since some of them require you to use friends’ guardians, or complete battles with your friends. Other quests can be easier such as collecting medals, gold and quest stars on the world map. These quests refresh daily and are great for medal and crystal income.

All this talk about these different currencies in Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG might make you curious what each of them are used for. Well, gold is the basic currency used for upgrading and training your hunter, as mentioned before. Medals on the other hand can be gotten for completing levels, dungeons and quests or other players can gift them to you. These can be spent on guardian summon scrolls or to invite friendly guardians to help. Crystals are the premium currency, which can be earned by completing harder quests, leveling your guardians to max level, or you can buy them for real money. You can unlock the most powerful guardian summon scrolls, weapon summon boxes and character skins with them.

Crystals can be bought starting from 10 for $0.99, all the way up to 1,300 for ~ $110.99. Once you bought some, they can even be exchanged for gold or stamina.

Cheats & Tips for Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG

As Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG is an always online RPG, cheats are the hardest to come by, but thankfully the game itself allows for a few cheats to make your experience much less frustrating.

The first and biggest cheat the game has is the autoattack and automove option, which will play the game for you, you will only have to activate skills and potions at the right times. This is free to do for anyone, consider using it if you are lazy or if you find the game too hard to control.

You probably are also looking for an easy way to get crystals and medals, but sadly there isn’t one in the game that requires doing nothing. You can either complete achievements or level guardians to max level for a stable income.

As a tip, you should keep in mind that you can replay any level for a second time, or do it on a harder difficulty to get more experience, items and new guardians. You are not forced to progress immediately after finishing the last level. If you have trouble with the next one, just go back and replay the last level either on normal or a harder difficulty, until you feel powerful enough to move on.

For a last tip, if you want levels or dungeons to be easier, add people to your friends list or accept their requests, so you can invite their guardians to help you out. These will be higher leveled than most of your basic guardians, making fights much easier.

Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG Review

Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG might look like a complicated game at first, with a lot of depth, but most of its gameplay mechanics are very simple, hidden behind the confusing looking interface. The game is not bad though, don’t get me wrong, it’s just easier to get into than you would expect.

No doubt the gameplay is pretty simple, as whenever you attack, your attacks will automatically target the closest enemy. If that’s not enough, there is an even simpler autoattack and move option, which will essentially play the game for you, except for using skills. I didn’t really like this option, as it really felt like a huge cheat to me.

As I started my journey in this game, I have chosen the most interesting looking hunter, the Sorceress. As I progressed through the various levels and dungeons, it turned out to be a great choice, as the magic options were pretty powerful and fun to use, especially the icicle rain and chain lightning spells. Most enemies during my first hour of gameplay on normal difficulty levels proven no challenge at all, while bosses also hardly damaged my character.

This disappointed me somewhat, thinking that the game will always be so easy, but soon I turned out to be wrong about it. Reaching the Endless Dungeon taught me a useful lesson about how easy to kill my character is, once accurately leveled enemies opposed me. I had to start actively dodging just to stay alive, while my two guardians, the vampire and the skeleton archer turned to dust in enemy fire. I was able to reach level 4 of the Endless Dungeon, before being totally annihilated over and over again.

Most of the difficulty in Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG seemed to originate from the fact that enemies might overwhelm you and bosses can hit very hard in the dungeon. Basic enemies on the other hand are easy to dodge and are no threat usually.

As for gathering guardians, it happens automatically in any level, so sometimes I ended up with 3-4 different guardians after each level, including boars, skeletons or golems. All guardians have an ability that you can activate during levels, but most are not too exciting. The boar charge seemed to be pretty boring for example, while the vampire’s bat swarm is a powerful and cool looking ability.

I also tried to get the most out of the social parts of the game, especially chatting with people, but the global chat seemed to be filled with people who didn’t even speak english. I only found one english speaker on the chat channel during multiple hours of gameplay. Maybe I got placed on the wrong channel, but I was sad to see that it was hard to interact with others using this function.

On the other hand, requests from random people to be on my friends list were coming in almost every minute, so filling a friends list is very easy. This also made it simple for me to use their guardians to assist me on harder levels. I also got a lot of free medals from people, which was a nice surprise.

Overall, Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG is a nice hack and slash game to spend some time on, but it requires you to keep playing for a long time to be really successful at it. On the first 10 or so levels you won’t be powerful enough to rank anywhere on the leaderboards or to win some of the toughest battles. It really requires dedication, so if you got that, you should have fun with this game.

Ratings:

Artwork: The artwork of Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG gets an 8/10. While we have seen this exact visual style in other games before, it fits this title very well. Most character models, items and levels look greatly detailed, it’s obvious the developers took good care while creating them.

Music & SFX: I give the music and SFX of this game a 6/10. I honestly didn’t really like the music in this title, mostly because it was filled with very generic fantasy tracks and lacked any personality. The SFX on the other hand saves this rating from going lower, as most spell effects are very well done, while enemy and character sounds were also good. I really wish they would add some more varied music to the game, that would really make the auditory experience better.

Story & Originality: Regarding the story and originality of Guardian Hunter: SuperBrawlRPG, it gets a 7/10. As for the story of the game, it really doesn’t provide anything new, it’s a really basic fantasy world, with countless monsters to slain. The idea of turning monsters into guardians on the other hand is a pretty unique though. I really enjoyed the fact that almost all monsters can be guardians and each of them have their own abilities.

General Gameplay: As for the general gameplay, it deserves an 8/10. Playing as a Guardian Hunter is truly a fun experience, especially fighting through various dungeons, which can be pretty challenging, regardless of character level. Collecting guardians also helps a great deal by setting a goal for players, whether it be a full collection, or unlocking a specific, highly wanted guardian. All the different dungeon and level encounters provide hundreds of hours full of content to enjoy.

Addictiveness: I give the addictiveness of the game an 8/10 as well. I can see any dedicated player checking on their hunter and guardians daily, participating in daily dungeons, ranking on the leaderboards in the Endless Dungeon, fighting against other players in PvP or going on Boss Raids, the game will have something fun for everyone!

Overall Score: 7/10.
