Wonder Rocket
Genre: Launch, Upgrades
Game Review
Quick! It's Sunday, weekends are soon over. A brand new week is ahead of you. How about playing a rocket themed vertical distance flash game called Wonder Rocket?
Basically, Wonder Rocket is a very typical rocket distance game. You launch your rocket ship, collect some money until you ran out of fuel. Later, unlock upgrades and launch your rocket into space again. The upgrade system in Wonder Rocket is well designed but overpowered; I've completed the flight with slightly more half the upgrades. The thing that makes this game shine the most is the obstacles. As you move vertically upwards into space, things get weirder. You find blue floating orbs and orange bouncy cheese around in your way. It's certainly creative but too many of these are kinda annoying.
In my opinion, almost all the standard elements are here, and implemented well. The only notable omission is the auto restart when the rocket collects fuel after the engines have gone out. Many times, I managed to pick up two fuel tanks on the way down after having an emptied tank. All in all, I would be a whole lot happier if I could control it with my mouse. Easier to handle as the current setting required too much precision to pick up the goodies.
