How to Hijack an Atlas Mech in Mass Effect 3

If you’ve delved a few hours into the single or multiplayer in Mass Effect 3, you’ve undoubtedly come across the wonderful Atlas mech.  Posing quite a problem for you the first few times you encounter it, it can be fairly frustrating to kill.  However, once you’ve learned the weakness of the mech, they aren’t as ridiculously frustrating.

In Mass Effect 3, you’ll find the ability to earn an achievement or trophy for hijacking an Atlas mech.  There’s no clear way to do it at first glance, which is why we’re here to help you complete the task.

When you come across an Atlas mech that you’d like to hack, you’ll want to grab a sniper rifle.  Make sure that your sniper rifle has high damage, and then begin an assault on the glass for the mech.  After a few well-placed shots, you’ll break through the glass of the mech.

After the glass has been broken, you’ll then want to take out the driver of the Atlas mech.  A well placed shot to the head with that same sniper rifle will easily take out the driver.  The next step? Easy.  Run over to the mech, look into the driver’s seat, and press “A” or “X” to enter the vehicle.

Once you’ve entered the Atlas Mech, you’ll have the ability to shoot missiles, bullets, or even melee an opponent.  It’s a great little change of pace from the normal action you’ll get in the game, and easier to do than you’d initially think.
