How to Access Dawnguard in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Today, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim receives its much anticipated first piece of downloadable content known as Dawnguard.  While there’s a ton of content already available in Skyrim, you purchased Dawnguard because you want even more.  The only problem is that you’re not entirely sure how to access it!

Don’t worry, it’s easier to access the Dawnguard downloadable content than you think.  For gamers that are over level 10, which should be most of you, you’ll hear the guards talk about Dawnguard.  If you ignore those individuals, you may even be approached by a courier who carries a note in regards to accessing the downloadable content.

If you’ve yet to reach level 10, you can find Dawnguard southeast of Riften.  As you approach the area, you’ll find a small cave that will lead you to the area that contains the downloadable content.  If you also wish to just find the area on your own and you’re over level 10, you can use this exact same method.
