The latest grueling challenge is here, and it offers more frustration and difficulty than ever. Dark Souls II has plenty of similar gameplay options as the first entry, but there are some all new secrets and cheats this time around. Check out our list to help you get through the land of Drangleic.
Backstab is a nasty ability that can take you out quickly. They are nearly impossible to avoid and can mean an instant death. In Dark Souls II, you can equip the Gower’s Ring of Protection so that backstab will no longer work against you.
This boss uses poison to make your life miserable. If only you could get rid of the poisonous fumes…oh, you can! Before you reach the boss, use a torch to burn down the windmill found in the prison area. This rids the room of poison so you can focus on the fight.
If you look behind the village in Majula, there is a Victor’s Stone, which is a shrine to the Company of Champions. If you join this company, you will INCREASE the difficulty of Dark Souls II. Be aware of this fact. Joining makes the game harder, but you’ll also get better rewards. However, you’ll be unable to summon or be summoned.
This boss is tough, but there’s a cheat. To use it, you can’t activate any of the switches in the Heide’s Tower of Flame on the way to the battle. Go into the fog and wait as the Dragonrider approaches you. After the 6th step, run past him to the right. If you are lucky, the Dragonrider will thrust at you but miss, and fall to his death instead.
In No Man’s Wharf, go to the far edge to find a room filled with jars of poison. There are two sleeping guards here. Behind them is a false wall that you can destroy to get a bunch of souls and a very useful ring.
If you want to change the gender of your character, go to Things Betwixt. Go down the second path on the left, past the crow’s nest ladder. Go to the end of the second path and drop down after the torch. Defeat the two Cyclops. Here there is a coffin you can use to swap the gender of your character. You can do this as many times as you want.
If you finish the game, New Game + will unlock. There is extensive bonus content available in the New Game + for up to four playthroughs.
This is an item you can get in the game. It is an optional gift that you can acquire during the character creation. It doesn’t seem to have a purpose, but it actually can be very useful. Place the Petrified Something in the bird’s nest in the first area of the game, Things Betwixt. You can then exchange this item for something more useful.
The Pursuer is a difficult enemy, but there’s a way to take him out easily. You must use one of the Ballista weapons in his boss arena. You need to line him up carefully in order to hit him with a good shot, but the perfect shot will deal damage equivalent to almost 99% of his health!
