Assassins Creed Rogue – Hunting Guide

Just like the previous entries, Assassin's Creed Rogue allows players to go hunting for animals, both on land and sea, in order to craft special items and equipment. There's only one hunting related trophy/achievement and it's the bronze/10 point Unicorn Slayer. You'll get this for harpooning a Narwhal. Ready to find all your prey? Use our guide to get started.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue

Arctic Fox

This animal is found in Burgeo, Harbour Deep, and Miramichi. Foxes are very fast, especially once they know you are there. You need to use a ranged weapon to get the advantage.

Arctic Hare

The hare is found in Burgeo, Harbour Deep, and Havre-Saint-Pierre-Lewisporte. These little guys are very easy to kill, although they are fast. Drive them towards a tree or cliff to easily finish them off.

Arctic Wolf

The arctic wolf is found in Gros Morne, Harbour Deep, Havre-Saint-Pierre, Lewisporte, and Terra Nova. These creatures will also chase you and fight. They won't do a lot of damage though, so they are easy to take out.

Beaver

The beaver is located in Glace Bay, Grand-Entree, Nerepis, and Yarmouth. This is one of the easiest kills. These guys are slow and they won't chase you or fight back.

Black Bear

The black bear is found in Ile Des Pins, Otetiani, and St. Nicolas. The black bear will chase you if you get too close, so use caution. Ranged attacks are a good way to take this animal out.

Black Wolf

This rare wolf is located in Or-du-Nord. Fighting them is not going to be too tough – it's finding them that's the hard part. You'll need to seek them out for their rare parts.

Canadian Lynx

This big cat is found in Grand-Entree, Le Chameau, and Nerepis. They are aggressive and will fight you, so be prepared to engage in a battle with them.

Deer

The deer is really common, and can be found nearly everywhere. It is one of the easiest to kill, but it is fast. It's recommended to use a ranged weapon to take them out fast.

Eastern Elk

This animal is found in Ash Creek, Aurifere, Coeur-de-I'hiver, Greystone, Red Bank, Riviere, and Sept-Iles. These critters will fight you, so be prepared. Ranged attacks are best.

Fox

These sly guys are found in Albany, Dekanawida, Mount Vernon, and Ruisseau du Renard. These guys are quick and will escape if you let him. Hit them hard with a ranged weapon to take them out as quickly as possible.

Gray Wolf

This wolf is found in Old Growth Forest, Sleepy Hollow, Twin Snake Path, Two Bends, and Vallee Verte. They attack if you get too close, so be ready. Attack them from behind for an easy one hit kill.

Hare

These little guys are located all over. They are very easy to kill, and surprisingly enough, they aren't even that fast.

Humpback Whale

Find this whale in the north or southeast part of the North Atlantic. These guys don't put up much of a fight, but they do have a lot of health, and the icy environment can do damage to your ship. Take your time and take them out with precision.

Narwhal

This fanciful aquatic creature is only found in the northeast part of the North Atlantic. You need special upgrades to your harpoon before you can try to hunt this creature. This guy is hard to hit, and it will charge you, so watch out. Nab this guy for an achievement or trophy!

Orca

Find this whale in the center of the North Atlantic, or towards the southeast. You'll need to have certain upgrades for your boat and harpoon. The killer whale fight is fairly straightforward, but be prepared for the whale to attack your ship – it won't go down without a fight.

Polar Bear

The polar bear is found in Fogo, the HMS shipwreck, and the Sapphire. If you get into close combat with these guys, you'll be hurting. Try to take them out with a high-powered ranged weapon.

Shark

This aquatic creature is found on the southwest side of the North Atlantic. Upgrade your harpoon and you'll have no problems taking out this big fish.

White Whale

Find this huge aquatic creature on the west or southeastern side of the North Atlantic. These guys are aggressive, so tread carefully, and watch the damage your ship takes. They also have a lot of health, so be prepared with an upgraded harpoon.
