It's that time of year, once again, when all etiquette and old-school good behaviour while shopping for presents makes way for heaving crowds and the underlying threat of crowd crushes and moments of madness. It's Black Friday week, which despite those negatives does represent one of the best opportunities to grab bargains and vital gifts for the Holiday season. For Nintendo and its competitors, meanwhile, it also represents the most lucrative shopping week of the year.
Over the past couple of weeks we've reported on some deals that have emerged from various retailers in their Black Friday ads, generally covering those that we think are the most notable deals either for their presence at the biggest retailers or, alternatively, offer a terrific deal from a smaller player. As some of you are no doubt spending to splash the cash on Nintendo goodies this week, we thought we'd compile some of the most enticing deals in this guide. A key point is that these are US deals, as we've covered particularly tempting deals in the UK — for example — in separate articles.
In some cases there are duplicates that are worse deals, but account for the fact that not all stores will be available in each town / city nor all have stock. We're also focused on hardware or key software promotions, primarily, though you can wade through resources such as BlackFriday.com for details on that $10 discount on a Wii game that you always wanted. To try and help a little for you browsers, however, each retailer heading is a link to their respective Black Friday pages.
We're sure even more deals and competition will emerge as the week progresses, so we'll keep you posted. In the meantime let us know of anything particularly notable that's missing down in the comments below, and we'll update the guide accordingly.
