Wildcards are a new addition to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, which allow you to change the way you use your weapons, equipment, and perks.
By default you have ten points to spend on weapons, equipment, and perks. You only have to spend one point to select any of the defaults, so one point to select a primary weapon, one point to select a secondary weapon, one point per attachment up to the attachment limit, etc.
With wildcards, you can spend a point to change this around. For example, if you want to use one less attachment, you can use the Overkill wildcard to replace your secondary weapon with a primary weapon. Or you could spend less points on attachments or equipment and choose more perks.
Keep in mind that choosing a wildcard does not give you the weapon, equipment, or perk for free, you still have to spend a point on whatever it grants you. Wildcards simply allow you use more of something than you would normally be able to, but with a higher cost.
Here are the wildcards you can unlock, and what level you’ll unlock them at.
