Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII – Cheats and Exploits

The Final Fantasy games always have a few cheats and tricks to make the game a bit easier. Lightning Returns is no exception. There are a few cheats and exploits available in the game, which players can use to traverse the world of Nova Crystallis. Here are some of the best ones.

Cactuars

Killing Cactuars can net you a ton of Gil. Fight them at the beach in Dead Dunes. You can get about 200,000 Gil by killing the Cactuar here, and you won’t waste too much time. Be aware that this is not a permanent solution – Cactuars will go extinct after you kill a certain amount. 

Final Day Fleeing

During the game, fleeing from battles has a time penalty attached. However, during the Final Day, there is no time limit. You can flee from any regular battle without penalties. The enemy will disappear from the map after you flee. If you flee from a scripted battle, you’ll be sent to the last checkpoint. 

Invincibility

With a little luck, you can create a character build that is virtually invincible. To do this, you’ll need to have two schema – one with 100% resistance to physical damage, and one with 100% resistance to  magical damage. By using these and switching them out in combat, you can create a character that basically takes no damage. To make the physical damage schema, you need a garb Cyber Jumpsuit with the accessories Ghostly Hood and Guard Glove. For the magical damage schema, get the garb Quiet Guardian with the accessories Preta Hood and Runic Ring. Be aware that these schemas will reduce your attack power, so use them wisely.

Lost Highway

You can get a ton of Gil through an exploit on the Lost Highway in Yusnaan. From 4 to 6 AM, you will see a Dark Cloud. Inside this cloud, monsters will spawn and these creatures will give you 15,000 Gil per defeat. If you are playing on Hard Mode, you’ll get even more. 

Red Dragon Outfitters

There is a rare store in the game that appears randomly at different times. It looks like a dark-skinned human wearing a red and black hat with a backpack and is marked as “Forge (Rare)”.
