Dragonology review

Fans of the fictional encyclopedia of the same name will be familiar with what’s on offer here. As a rookie ‘dragonologist’ you’re tasked with locating the beasts via a repetitive routine of finding and examining clues, such as making footprint moulds or inspecting claws. Then you must catch a scaly giant, take its picture or sneak up on it to steal its treasure.

It’s all a bit unfair on the dragon really, made worse by the appearance of your tutor, Dr. Drake, whose old-school army officer looks lead us to suspect he may be more interested in shooting and stuffing your new friends rather than caring for them. Still, the interactive clues are nicely done, and kids will enjoy it, but this is probably best avoided by older gamers who aren’t obsessed with flying lizards.
