By now, everyone knows how SingStar works. You sing into the mic, alone or with a friend, and you’re rewarded (or punished) for your ability to carry a tune. This edition doesn’t add, or take anything away, from the game’s mechanics, so we’re basically reviewing Take That instead.
Take That is one of the greatest boy bands pop music has ever produced. Whether or not you like their back catalogue is sort of irrelevant – their music has entered the public consciousness, and we’re willing to bet you know most of the 25 songs included here. Take That know how to please their audience, and most of these songs are from their heyday – including Never Forget and Back for Good – rather than their recent, Robbie-less comeback. Once again, this doesn’t move the series forward, but as an interactive Best Of, full of hit songs and videos, it’s worth the £20 asking price.
