While some YouTubers are busy writing books, there’s a whole section of YouTube dedicated just to reading and discussing books. Say Hello to BookTube!
BookTube is an unofficial corner of YouTube where book lovers read an astounding number of books and — we bet you didn’t see this one coming — make videos about them! If you enjoy reading books of any kind, you’re bound to fall in love with at least one of these channels.
This is also a great way to find new books to read (though there are other methods, like Reddit). If you follow a BookTuber who has roughly the same tastes as you, there’s a good chance you’ll discover books you never would have found otherwise.
As the biggest BookTuber out there with over 264k subscribers at the time of writing, Christine Riccio’s channel is a must. She’s also one-third of Booksplosion (a monthly virtual book club), along with the next two channels on this list.
She’s full of energy and does a wide variety of book-based videos including book talks, reviews, sketches, comedy videos, book-related discussions, and more. She even covers a lot of TV and movie content for books that have been adapted to the big and small screen (like The Hunger Games or Divergent).
A lot of her tastes fall under the umbrella of young adult (YA) literature and fantasy, but you can find a decent amount of variety here. As with any good YouTuber, you can find her on Twitter, Instagram, Tumblr, or Facebook, or you can visit her website.

Kat O’Keefe is another of the big BookTubers with just over 200k subscribers right now, and she has definitely earned them. You’ll get a lot of classic BookTube content here like book hauls, reviews, TBRs (To Be Reads), monthly wrap-ups, book talks, and the occasional book-related tag video.
If you watch Kat’s videos regularly, you’ll find a relatively wide range of genres, but — as with most of the biggest BookTubers — she tends to lean towards YA and fantasy. If that’s your thing, subscribe to her and you’ll get a lot of insightful commentary!

Finishing up the big three of Booksplosion is Jesse George, whose channel covers a lot of similar content to Christine and Kat. You get book reviews, hauls, challenges, wrap-ups, and all that good stuff.
His silly, awkward style (like the fwoosh at the beginning of every video) is endearing, and while he also largely covers YA and fantasy, he did do a round-up of great comic books recently.

Sasha Alsberg currently runs the second biggest BookTube channel with nearly 250k subscribers! She produces a ton of hilarious and informative content from reviews, hauls, and TBRs to liveshows, tags, and trailer reactions.
She reads a lot of YA and fantasy, but you’ll also find romances, alternate histories, and other kinds of novels. Her excitement for everything she reads easily transfers over to you as the viewer. Plus she’s half of the Perustopia book club along with the next channel!

Regan from the Peruse Project is really great at making structured, well-organized videos. She gives succinct summaries and reads a solid variety of stories. Fantasy seems to be her preferred genre, but there is a good bit of historical fiction and other genres mixed in.
As you might expect from a BookTube channel, she does a ton of reviews, recommendations, hauls, and wrap-ups. She’s really great at expressing her opinions and analyzing books in an intelligent way.

Do you want to read a bunch of different genres? Do you want to read stories from a wide variety of authors? Then Rincey’s got your back.
Her videos are simple, straightforward, and to the point. The most unique thing about her channel is the fact that every video has Closed Captions. So if you’re deaf or hard-of-hearing, if English is your second language, or if you just prefer reading over listening, this is a channel I would definitely recommend.

Here’s another channel made for expanding your horizons just a little. Katie’s channel is mostly about reading for fun but also about reading to learn, so you’ll find some non-fiction, some psychological stories, and some horror — a bit of everything really!
She has interesting discussions about books, tag videos, and of course, classic book reviews. Her reviews are brutally honest and can really help you decide what to read.

If you’re not a huge fan of YA but still want your own corner of BookTube I’d highly recommend Mercedes’ channel.
Here you’ll find a wide range of books from literary fiction to magical realism, from short story collections to graphic novels. As usual, you’ll get TBRs, book hauls, reviews, and wrap-ups on this strictly reading-based channel, and you’re bound to find some really wonderful books if you watch her videos.

So many different kinds of books! Caz’s channel uncovers wonderful non-fiction, science fiction, and contemporary books, among so much more — including some manga.
Again, this might be another opportunity for you to find some books you never would have heard of or tried otherwise. Caz speaks with a lot of enthusiasm and knowledge about the books she reads, and you’ll definitely want to stick around for all the videos she puts out.

Welcome to a channel that covers more classic kinds of literature. For powerful non-fiction stories as well as older stories with beautiful prose, check out Ashley’s channel.
This is one of those channels that will probably make you learn something along the way. She also dips into things like graphic novels and the Harry Potter series, so you get a really nice mix of content with this one beyond the standard YA.
