The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gwent Cheats, Tips and Tricks To Improve Your Skills

Gwent is an amazing card game Witchers use to play in Novigrad and surroundings. Since it's very fun, it is worth to give it a proper try even if at first sight it could seem a bit too complex for you to embark on. Here's our tips and tricks to improve your skills in it.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Gwent

Winning the first round is not your primary focus:

Use your first round to get card draw while trying to force your opponent to spend his special cards and big combo cards so they don't get used later. Try not to go over 10 - 12 damage

Have more cards than your opponent

It is essential for you to have more cards than your opponent. Spies are important, too, because they give you two cards in return that could be way better.

Save bigger cards for the end

See what your opponent is going to do, or at least wait for him to use his special cards, before you use the bigger cards. Instead, just freeze your opponent's cards and use some other less powerful card you have on your deck.

Don't focus on one single type of unit

If you use one single type of unit during a Gwent match, you will risk to see all of them wasted just because your opponent has used a weather card.

Consider well your move while decoying or healing

Prioritize healing cards that can have combos, for example healing another heal card. Same applies for decoys, useful as a draw back or a taunt.

Don't forget to use your leader's ability

Well, the title says it all. Clicking on the leader, you will receive an ability depending on the leader whether it be dispensing a special card or a free Commander's Horn. Use it!
