Black Ops: First Strike Map Pack Zombie Perk Guide

With the Call Of Duty Black Ops: First Strike map pack now available, we decided to discover which perks are most useful in Ascension and when best to use them.

PhD Flopper

This is one of the two new perks available in First Strike, and one of the most useful. Whenever you are downed or leap from an elevated position into a prone stance you will let off a small nuke, obliterating any enemies nearby. This really only comes into its own in later rounds when the hordes of zombies are a getting a little much for you. You can find this perk’s machine near a lunar lander up a small set of stairs (which, conveniently, is also a great place to leap into oncoming zombies).

Jugger-nog

You’ll find this perk the most important one to use since it doubles the amount of hits you can take before being downed. This is located in the middle floor of the set of three small rooms connected by a staircase. The machine is in a small area connected to it on the left. When the space monkeys appear, we’d highly suggest protecting this location over any others, since losing Jugger-nog will seriously weaken you and your team.

Quick Revive

Downing this perk will enable you to quickly resurrect team-mates after they have been downed. It’s not always necessary for everyone in a group to buy Quick Revive, instead having one or two of your team concentrate on reviving any fallen allies while the rest continues to defend against the zombies. This perk machine is located in the starting area, though cannot be accessed until you have activated the power outside.

Stamin-Up

Stamin-Up is the second new perk for Zombies mode and increases your movement speed and sprint duration, even when carrying heavier weapons like the RPK. Since Ascension is such a large map, it can be a useful perk to collect to allow you to duck and weave between ravaging zombies without any problems. However, we wouldn’t suggest it is important enough to protect when the space monkeys attack. The machine is located on the outside on the far left of the map, in the same area as the power switch.

Speed Cola

This perk increases the speed of reload times, allowing weapons with slower mag swaps to become more useful in later rounds. This perk is as important as the weapon you decide to use. If you opt for smaller clips with faster reloads then it’s fairly useless, otherwise you will want to use this perk to make it easier to defend. It is, however, the most expensive ability at 3,000 points. The machine for this perk is located near the lunar lander closest to the sealed launch pad (and the concealed Pack-a-Punch machine inside).
