Top 10 Best Co-op Games for PS3 | Playstation 3

Gamers by nature are competitive. However, sometimes it's nice to work as a team. Local co-op gameplay is a good method of introducing a significant other to the world of gaming. By that same token, online co-op can be a way to still feel close to a friend who's moved away. Whatever the reason, there are just some times when we don't feel like blowing our friends' heads off, and that is perfectly ok, because the following games happen to have pretty fun co-op modes. Some of these even feature content that is unique to co-op, which can make playing the game with someone else a completely new experience! 

#10 Rock Band Series 

It's hard to really pick one Rock Band game over any other, because a lot of this is based upon personal music preference. My personal favorite in terms of set list has got to be "Rock Band 2", but with the addition of the keyboard peripheral in the most recent game, it's a close call. Though you'll occasionally find a person who scoffs at the entire concept and insists that people who can't actually play the instruments don't deserve to sound good, but that seems rather elitist. Not everyone is a natural musician, but this series allows us all to have our moment of pretending to be one. And with such a broad combined scope of music, there is something for everyone here. 

 

#9 Lego: Lord of the Rings

Lego: Lord of the Rings is TTGames' take on the LOTR movies by Peter Jackson, and sees every character in the movies rendered in Lego minifig form.

Players get to experience the events of the movies firsthand as these characters, which switch from mission to mission. Along the way, players can unlock even more characters to replay these missions as and access previously blocked off areas.

Lego: Lord of the Rings is arguably the best of the Lego titles, offering a diverse set of characters, locations, and activities for players of all ages. It also dares to inject quite a bit of comedy into the story, so the experience varies from what you know of the movies.

 

#8 Red Dead Redemption 

This open-world adventure, set in the wild west of 1911 see John Marston, a former bad boy, attempt to hunt down his old buddies when his wife and son are taken by the government and used as leverage. This is what you get for trying to stay on the lawful straight and narrow, apparently.  

John must track them through the desert, hunting and skinning animals, collecting herbs and winning money through gambling along the way. In co-op mode, however, this almost feels like I completely different game. Up to 16 players can join, and the balance of competitive versus cooperative comes down to the very nature of the players as they must choose to form posses, work together towards goals, or sabotage each other.
