Fire Emblem: Awakening Advanced Classes Guide: Sorceror, Battle Monk

Now that we have covered all the basic starter classes, it’s time to take a look at the advanced classes included in Fire Emblem: Awakening. Most of these classes are actually more specialized versions of the starter classes and feature overall better growth and skills. It’s important to play around with the class change system to make the advanced classes as strong as they can be. Changing a mage into a physical oriented class won’t be doing you any good since all the bonus stats will be related to the magic stat and so on. It’s still possible to make some drastic changes but it’s going to require more work and it’s probably not worth it. Still, the possibility is there to customize your army to your likings.

  • Sorceror

The Sorceror advanced class is the natural evolution of the dark mage class: it doesn pretty much the same things but better. The magic stat is among the highest possible and even HP get a good growth. Skill and Speed and not among the best with some luck on the RNG you will be able to attack twice most units with avarage speeds. Even the double effects are quite nice, giving bonuses to magic, resistance and even defense. Just like the dark mage, the sorceror gets an added bonus when using dark tomes. One of the best magic based classes available and the best when dealing with armored units and enemies with low resistance. Sorcerer learns the Vengeance Skill at level 5 and the Magic Slayer at level 15. They promote from the Dark Mage starter class.

  • Battle Monk

The Battle Monk is a strange hybrid class, wielding axes and staves, making them decent in both healing and attacking. The Monk’s stats aren’t even bad, with good HP growth and decent strength and magic. Defense is obviously quite low but with the good HP growth they can take a few hits. Still, not a unit that can be placed in the frontlines: just like other healing-offensive hybrids, it’s all up to you. Having a unit which can attack as well as heal is an added bonus but if you require a better staff wielder you better look elsewhere. Battle Monk learns the Rally Luck skill at level 5 and the Renewal skill at level 15. They promote from the Priest starter class.
