Bioshock Infinite Weapons Guide: Vox Eater/ Sky Hook

Bioshock Infinite offers a good variety of weapons that Booker DeWitt can use to dispose of his enemies. Most of the times these weapons are used together with Vigor to create some truly damaging attacks. Some of the weapons of the game can be found lying around while others require you to defeat specific enemies in order to obtain them. Thanks to Elizabeth your weapons’ power can also be enhanced with her possesing the weapon and the ammo thanks to her tears.

Finding a weapon doesn’t mean that you’re done with it as soon as you find another one: you’ll be able to upgrade it in a few different ways using the Minuteman’s ArmoryVending Machines found all over Columbia. The upgrade system allows you to costumize weapons to your likings and even retain all these upgrades once you found a new type of the same weapon. It’s quite a unique system which adds a bit more depth to the game.

Vox Heater

The Vox Heater is not so different from the China Boom Shotgun: they’re so much alike that you may consider the Vox Heater as an upgraded version of the shotgun. The Vox Heater, however, comes with a heavier damage blast and it can also set the enemy on fire, causing extra damage. As a downside this weapon can only fire two shots in one go so be really careful when using it when confronting multiple foes.

Available Upgrades

  • Heater Damage Boost 1 $554
  • Heater Damage Boost 2 $554
  • Heater Reload Speed $752
  • Heater Spread Boost $467
  • Max Upgrade Cost $2327

Sky Hook

Other then being used to travel across skylines, the Sky Hook is also your primary melee weapon. The Charge Vigor will improve it quite a bit and it will allow the Hook’s power to be used even when traveling skylines. Some gears also affect you melee attack:

  • Burning Halo
  • Electric Punch
  • Electric Hat
  • Spare the Rod
  • Coat of Harms
  • Executioner
  • Brittle-Skinned
  • Deadly Lungers

Attacking enemies with the hook will also leave them open for a finisher.
