Destiny: The Taken King Guide - How to Open the Chest in Taken Consumption Room on Dreadnaught

Destiny: The Taken King's new area, the Dreadnaught, is full of hidden nooks and crannies that contain secrets. One of these hidden and out-of-the-way locations is a room where you will receive damage from Taken Consumption. It's like poison.

Players who've made their way into the room have discovered a chest located within. The challenge is finding the chest, and opening it without dying—or at least dying after you open it and acquired its contents.

Steps to opening the hidden chest in room where you take damage from Taken Consumption

1. Head to the Court of Oryx location in Dreadnaught Patrol.

2. Kill Taken in the area until you see a message on the screen that says "The Ritual Has Begun." Scour the area for Taken until you find the room where the Ritual is happening.

3. When you discover the location, it will trigger an event. Kill all the Taken that spawn into the area. An Ultra will spawn. Kill it. Once you're done, a green glowing orb will spawn on the pillar in the middle of the room.

4. Jump up to the orb and grab it. You'll need it to survive the Taken Consumption.

5. Go to the Taken Consumption room and run to where the chest is. It can be a little hard to find, but you'll be able see the Court of Oryx in the 1-o'clock, or North-Eastern direction. Go through the entryway and locate a small crack in the wall that you can slide through. Continue on until you find the next crack in the wall and get to the chest.

6. As long as you're holding the orb, you will not take Taken Consumption damage. Any party members close to you will also be immune to the poison in the room. Open the chest. It can take 15-30 seconds to open the chest and the orb is only temporary, so be quick!
