Destiny: The Taken King Guide - Calcified Fragment Locations and How to Get Them

Redditor BYF9 and other Destiny players have put together a list of Calcified Fragment locations in The Taken King and even provided videos to help you find them. 

Why go to so much bother? It's all to get the Touch of Malice exotic scout rifle. There are 50 in the game and you need 45 to get the gun. Details on the weapon and a guide on how to get it are included in this post. 

If you want to find out how many you already have, go to Destiny Ghost Hunter, enter your gamer ID and platform and search under Dreadnaught.

XXXVIII (38) is generated randomly during Patrol Dreadnaught. You'll first need to have the Wormfeeder Rune random drop from Hive in the Dreadnaught, which may be limited to Hull Breach. From there, you can use the Wormfeeder switch in the Hull Breach area which summons a rare Hive mob Blahgrish. You kill this mob and he drops the Wormfeeder Rune. You then must kill 50 enemies without dying in the Dreadnaught and you get a random key (in this case, Key of Yuul). The key of Yuul is in the Hall of Souls area as shown in the video on a ledge up high. Had someone in the same fireteam get the same Wormfeeder Rune however he got the Key of Ur and it gave him the same XXXVIII Calcified Fragment.
