Destiny Kings Fall Normal vs. Hard Mode Differences

A few hardcore players, namely Slayerage, who've gotten through part of the Hard Mode of the King's Fall raid have been streaming their reports about the new challenges they faced. As with previous raids, there are a few differences in the way the raids play out in Hard Mode.

Here are some of the notable differences:

No battle revives. This is the biggest difference.

Relic Stage: The start of the raid where players must dunk orbs to open a portal remains largely unchanged, with the only differences being that enemies are Level 42 and players have less time to dunk their orbs before they detonate.

Hive Jumping Puzzle Part 1: At the first part of the Hive ship jumping puzzle, the save checkpoint in the middle has been removed. Players must restart from the beginning if they fall to their deaths. This may prove to be, by far, the most frustrating change in Hard Mode.

Hive Jumping Puzzle Part 2: Part two of the Hive ship jumping puzzle with the forcefield and the plates remains unchanged. Enemies are level 42.

Totems: In the Totem challenge, more enemies spawn and become tougher as the fight progresses. Players will have to contend with Majors (Knights with yellow health bars) towards the end.

Warpriest: The Warpriest is deadlier, and shoots tracking bolts and earns new attacks each time he dissolves a pillar. He drops 320 Light gear.

Golgoroth: When players go to stand in the pools, they may randomly receive an Unstable Light debuff that kills surrounding players when the timer hits zero. These players must leave the bubble or risk wiping the raid. Single-orb strategy is less feasible. The Taken spawn earlier. He drops 320 Light gear.

Daughters of Oryx: The timer begins immediately for the second run, so there's no point in keeping the first Daughter alive. Same as the original, only 3 plates are needed. Run is counter-clockwise. 320 Light gear drops.

Oryx, The Taken King: Recommended light level is 320, so come equipped. Same start sequence, run counter-clockwise, and only 3 plates are needed. Knights spawn to protect bombs after the Ogres die. Knights also spawn on each of the platforms during the "dark souls" phase.

Here's what you'll get for acquiring every Hard Mode piece of armor.
