Casting sorcery in Dark Souls 2 requires a catalyst such as a staff, alongside the appropriate number of intelligence for each of the spells. There are many Sorcery spells available in comparison to any of the other spells, and most only require one attunement slot, meaning you can wield several of these spells all at once.
Dark Souls 2 sorcerer’s staff Location
The sorcerers staff can either be acquired within the starting equipment when selecting the sorcerer class or alternatively it can be purchased from Carhillion of the Fold in exchange of souls. If you haven’t collected enough souls to fund this purchase then visit our guide on farming souls before continuing. Or alternatively it can be found hidden in a secret room towards the bottom of the large staircase by the Pate trap within the Forest of Giants.
