In Dark Souls 2 Sublime Bone Dust is an item that is used to strengthen your Estus Flask and increase the amount of health that it can restore in a single usage. Once you have the item in your inventory, you should remember to burn it at the next bonfire you encounter, which will then upgrade your flask to an Estus Flask +1 and beyond. There are five in total throughout the game, and the further you progress into the game, the more useful they will become, so read on to discover all of the locations of Sublime Bone Dust in Dark Souls 2!
Dark Souls 2 Sublime Bone Dust Locations
Sublime Bone Dust #1: Heide’s Tower of Flame
The first Sublime Bone Dust is dropped by the second enemy as you enter the area from Majula. The Old Knights in this area are large with long reaches, but slow enough to get around and attack from behind if you’re nimble enough. The enemy you need to defeat is the one wielding the enormous greathammer: once you’ve vanquished him he will drop the Sublime Bone Dust and will not respawn. See the video below for a guide:
Sublime Bone Dust #2: Huntsman’s Copse
From the second bonfire in Huntsman’s Copse, go over the first bridge and then immediately veer right to find a second bridge. You can either defeat all the enemies lurking over the first bridge or skip them entirely: though be warned that there is a tough enemy over the second bridge who can be problematic. Clear them all out to be on the safe side. Continuing over the second bridge, you will come to a narrow pathway that leads into an area lined with tall pillars on both sides. If you look carefully, you will see more enemies perching atop these pillars, so tread with caution and try to lure down one at a time. They wield Greathammers and Whips. Once these are defeated, proceed to the wooden footbridge, being wary of plummeting to your death through the occasional gap. At the end of the bridge, you will see a red phantom ahead, but on the right just before the bridge ends, there is an isolated rock platform with an item that you have to jump to reach. Jump over to claim the second Sublime Bone Dust.
Sublime Bone Dust #3: Sinner’s Rise
After travelling down the elevator, proceed into the water ahead with caution, as there are several quite powerful enemies down here, including some of those irritating poisonous exploding zombies. As you enter the water, take care of the monster to the left, and in the alcove he was guarding is the third Sublime Bone Dust location.
Sublime Bone Dust #4: Black Gulch
After you have defeated The Rotten, look for a small opening in the side of the arena that leads to a dark passageway. Take the first left to find a chest containing the fourth Sublime Bone Dust.
Sublime Bone Dust #5: Iron Keep
This one is found after you have defeated the Old Iron King (see our guide here for some useful tips). In the boss arena, as you are facing the lake of lava, turn right and follow the platform around the side and through a doorway. In this room, you will find a chest containing the fifth and final Sublime Bone Dust.
