Destiny Buyers Guide

With all the different editions of Destiny available, it can be rather difficult to understand just which one you should be putting your name down for in order to get the right deal for you. To help make to process a little more straightforward we've listed exactly what is on offer with each edition!

Destiny has five different versions across each console. The standard, Digital Guardian, Limited Edition, Ghost Edition and PlayStation 4 Bundle.
If you only care about the meat of the gameplay and want to cut the fat, you can stick to the standard edition of the game, or download the Digital Guardian Edition. The standard edition is available at retail or from your favorite console's digital storefront (with the exception of the Xbox 360) and features the core game with any preorder bonuses you may be elligible for, but the Digital Guardian includes the expansion pass and special collector's edition gear.
Two swagged out editions include physical goodies for you to add to your collection in addition to the digital content included on the Digital Guardian edition.

The Playstation 4 bundle doesn't include any special ingame gear or physical loot, but it does include a physical copy of the game's standard edition and 30 days free of PlayStation+.

You can check out what's included in each edition in the chart below.

The Vanguard Armory DLC offers players who preorder the game access to the Vanguard Quartermaster and Vanguard character emblem earlier in the game, as well as exclusive Vanguard weapons and armor for each class that feature the Vanguard logo which will be locked until at least Fall 2015.

Sony players have early access to the Exodus Blue Crucible map as well as the Dust Palace Strike mission, in addition to one exclusive set of armor for each class, as well as an exclusive revolver and assault rifle.

Players who do not receive the expansion pass with their version of the game can purchase it from their respective console's digital storefront. It includes two expansions, The Dark Below and House of Wolves, which introduce new story missions, competitive maps, and gear. The Dark Below is based on the Moon and centers on the cultish Hive enemy race, and very little information exists about House of Wolves although a Fallen enemy type is displayed on its digital cover.

If you're interested in getting the most out of your Destiny experience, you can download the Destiny app for iOS and Android smart phones. Gamers experienced with first person shooters like Activision's Call of Duty or Bungie's Halo might recognize the companion app's various features. The companion expands on the core Destiny experience by offering players a way to check on their character's stats when they're away from the game, and allegedly offers players additional information as they play.

So hopefully that will help you navigate the maze of pre-order bonuses and special editions that surround Destiny. With the game releasing on the 9th, now is the perfect time to get the right version for you!
