Fusion cores power your power armor suit in Fallout 4, and if you don’t want to go searching or paying for them when you first start the game, then you are in for a surprise because there’s a way to acquire them without having to go searching and paying for them. A new exploit allows you to keep obtaining unlimited fusion cores inside Prydwen’s main deck in Fallout 4.
Players will first encounter the Prydwen ship in Fallout 4 after the main quest Reunions is completed, which you will see flying over to the western mountain range of the map and headed across the Commonwealth. The ship will make its way above the Boston Airport and will anchor there. After this, you can visit the ship during the Brotherhood of Steel quest Shadow of Steel, which is offered by Paladin Danse.
So, in other words, it is just south of East Boston Preparatory School. Once on the ship, head to the main deck, which is right beneath the massive airbags keeping the ship flying, and you should see a person in a power suit.
You will need to pick pocket them and make sure your skills are sorta high so they won’t turn on you and kill you. This will force the person out of the power armor suit, but shortly afterwards, they will get back in the power suit prompting you another chance to keep this infinite loop up.
You can watch Matty Boo‘s video, which shows how to continuously clean this NPC of their fusion cores, without being caught.
For those that want some help with commentary, FadedBladez made a video showing how it works too. This video is 49 seconds longer, but explains the process as well.
For those that can’t seem to keep fusion cores around and need a quick method that isn’t time-consuming or causes you to spend caps to get some, this is a good method to turn to. And lastly, make sure when doing this glitch, you save it before you start the process of the infinite fusion cores. This method also works on the Xbox One and PS4 versions of the game, so it’s a nice little exploit to get free cores.
