Bloodborne Guide: How to Get All 3 Endings

Who would’ve thought that a game rife with secrets, and unlockables would also have multiple endings? It turns out, everyone; but just because you know about them doesn’t mean that you know how to get them. Luckily you’ve stumbled across this guide, which will show you exactly how to get each of the three as well as how to do so in a single play through (although you will have to fight a certain boss twice). But, you’ve already faced nightmare after nightmare, so dealing with a single boss twice shouldn’t be a big deal. Especially if you really want all three endings.

Before we get started, you’re going to need a USB memory drive. It doesn’t need a large capacity, since your Bloodborne save file will be under 40 MB. Once you have that ready, it’s time to play through the game. Make sure to collect three of the One Third of Umbilical Cord items, but do not consume them at all. You can use this handy guide to find the location of each.

Play all the way up to the final boss. If you’re unsure when that is, it’s right after defeating Mergo’s Wet Nurse. Return to Hunter’s Dream to see the workshop on fire, and the doll will tell you that Gherman is waiting for you. That is your cue to save and quit the game.

Go into settings on your PlayStation 4 and go under the Application Saved Data Management. Back up your Bloodborne data onto the USB drive you got earlier. Now you’re ready to head into Bloodborne in order to begin getting all of the endings and their corresponding trophies.

First Ending: Yharnam Sunrise

Bloodborne™_20150405104125

This is the easiest ending to get since you don’t actually have to fight anyone. All you need to do is head over to where Gherman is sitting in his wheelchair beneath the large tree. Talk to him and he will give you two options. Choose the accept option, and you’ll be treated to the beautiful first ending cutscene.

Once you’ve done this, exit the game completely and head back into the Application Saved Data Management and copy your old save file from the USB back to the console. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing data on your console, choose yes or the file won’t transfer. Now time to head back into the game and do it again.

Second Ending: Honoring Wishes

ending

This ending is a bit more difficult to obtain than the last one, mainly because you actually have to fight a boss. Approach Gherman just like you did last time, only this time choose the refuse option. You will now have to fight Gherman, the First Hunter, and he is no slouch. Luckily we have a guide written just for this purpose. Claim victory and sit back as you  watch the second cutscene. This one has a pretty cool turn of events, so we won’t spoil it for you.

After the credits roll, save and exit the game. You know the drill, copy the save file from earlier to your console. Back into Bloodborne you go.

Third Ending: Childhood’s Beginning

moon presence

This is the third ending and the most well-hidden one. Once you load up the game, consume the three Umbilical Cord pieces you should have already collected. After that, head over to Gherman. You will once again choose the refuse option and face the First Hunter. After you complete the battle, you will receive the beginning of the second ending. No worries though. Towards the middle, the Umbilical Cord you unceremoniously consumed will trigger a reaction that pisses a pretty strong beast off. Now it’s time to fight the super secret, well hidden, panic inducing Moon Presence. If you need help, here’s a guide to the boss fight.

Upon completion, you will be treated to not only the  final ending, but what is held to be the true ending in Bloodborne.
