Episode 2 Preview

The Long Ride Home


The first person you speak to is a police man who is driving you out of Atlanta
How are we here then? Our protagonist is Lee a teacher of History in a
University and when Lee caught the State Senator sleeping with his wife he went
cukoo and the senator bit it.

This game changes a little bit on what you choose and the dialogue choices you
make are more crucial since the other characters take note of everything you
say to them and that will affect their behaviour in the game at later stages.

The Long Ride home is like a prologue to the whole game so just keep talking
to the driver and click on the rear view mirror to initiate further dialogue -


After a while of driving the guy finally screws up and the next thing you know
is that you are in the woods outside Atlanta.

The Woods

The real game starts now, Look to the left and you see a shotgun on the ground.
To the right of Lee is the car window so make Lee kick the window down and get
close to it and get out -


                           Walk around the car and you come to the shotgun on
the ground. You can try to pick it up but it will not do much good. Also, you
can pick up a shell for the shotgun to the right of the shotgun -


Take it and walk towards the officer. Get close to him and take the keys to
the handcuffs from him. Because of Lee's anxiety, the keys keep falling down so
just pick them up and use them on the cuffs and get yourself free first. Then
suddenly...

Move back by holding the walk backwards button and when you get close to the
car grab the shotgun from your left and use it on the head of the dead -


That much sound just has to attract much attention and it does, first look at
the little girl who is far away on top of your screen and call out to her then
just look to the right of the screen and you see the walkers -

In the Yard

Whew!!! that was a close escape. Let's look around for help first. You can go
speak to the treehouse here but it won't do much good. Walk up the stairs and
go into the house and check everything around. Go into the kitchen to the right
and check in the  first drawer from the left to find a walkie talkie -


                                                         Walk back outside the
kitchen and a few steps to the left. There are things you can look at, around
here but after that, use the telephone and listen to the messages.

Someone contacts you on the walkie talkie and you can see a little person in
the tree house. And then - surprise...

When you see the quick time event keep hitting the Q button till the two arrows
to the left and right come to the center and then hit E to lose the sitter -


Kick the head of the babysitter and when Clementine reaches for you, take the
hammer from her and again, use it on the head of the babysitter, smash the
head a few times to make sure you took her down for good.

Meeting Clementine

You get to meet the little girl you saw in the woods earlier and well, frankly
she saved your life handing you the hammer and all. You can speak to her and
get to know her. After you are done speaking to Clementine, you make your first
choice in the game, you can either choose to get out during the day or move
during the night.

If you choose to go during the day then walk with Clementine to the left of
house to the gate. Get close to the gate and open it, you get to meet two guys
here who are also looking to make it out of here. You can help them push the
car which is blocking the path and then get into their car and get the hell
out of the city.

If you choose night then you stay in the house till its night. Go to the left
of the house near the gate and open it. Some guy mistakes you for a zombie -
those situations can never be good. But still, you meet with two people who are
heading out of the place and the friend called Ched has been turned now.

Either way, you get out of here and go to the farm of the kid who offered you
the ride.

Hershel's Farm

Hershel's the father of Shawn - the guy who just gave you the ride out of town.
You get to speak to him for a little while and also the dialogue with Hershel
is a bit strange because you can either tell him lies or you can just keep
quiet to all  of his questions but never can you even hint at the truth of what
happened to you previously. Hershel does help Lee but taking care of the leg
wound which Lee sustained in the car crash. Hershel even offers a place to rest
for us during the night and then Shawn makes plans for the next day - something
about building a fence. Then we can finally rest after the long day we had.

The next morning, the guy from the other family who were resting in the barn
comes over and wakes us up. Go with him and after this conversation is over,
you can speak to him again near his car which is to the right. Then go around
the house to the left and speak to Duck and then Shawn, if you offer help to
Shawn he asks you to cut some wood for him. After you cut the wood you should
go back to Hershel who is in the barn. Go to him and he asks you about why you
lied to him last night and all that and blah and more blah. After the end of
it you hear a loud scream...

Shawn or Duck

Lee runs to the place where Shawn and Duck are being abducted by the Zombies
and we have to make our first big choice in the game. You should choose one of
them or the other now and events play out according to your choice.

If you choose Duck then you have to try and get him free from the clutches of
the dead (literally) or if you want to go after Shawn then you need to push the
tractor which is crushing his legs. Anyway, whatever you choose will play
itself since Hershel is not really pleased that his son is dead. If you tried
to help Shawn then he does not get on your nerves but if you helped Duck he
will shout at us and finally kick us out of the farm.

Kenny still offers to take us to Macon no matter what choice you picked earlier

Welcome Home

We're finally in the home town of Lee - the place where he grew up was Macon.
Lee's family including his parents and a younger brother are still supposed
to be in Macon but this place is already crawling with the dead.

Thankfully, another group of survivors see us and come to our rescue. Their
base is in the Drug store nearby but all of them are not happy to see us. The
moment you are in the Drug store you need to start taking sides, you can either
speak against Duck being thrown out because he was bit or you can support the
old man who is obviously not very friendly. 

It's going to be a very long conversation and either way, you will soon know if
Duck was bit or not. But all this while, Clementine who told you that she needs
to take a leak is near the toilet and something happens.

Clementine Attacked


Well, this girl has a knack of getting around trouble where ever she goes. Go
to he and click on her to rescue her. After you save her things settle down
again and we can walk around and take breather but there still is a lot to do.

The old guy who kept shouting has a heart attack and we need to find pills
for him. Since we can move around, talk to everyone you can see but first just
collect some energy bars which are around so that you can give them to the
people around. There are four energy bars. The first is behind the shelf which
is to the right of Clementine just before the door near the ATM -


The Second is on the shelf behind Carly -


The third is on the shelf beside Lily -


The last one is on the shelf which comes as you move past Lily to her right -


After you collect the bars talk to Carly first, she's the one who has the gun
and who came for our rescue when we were outside. Talk to her and it seems that
she cannot get her radio to work. take a look at the radio and turn it around.
Look in the battery compartment and you see that there are not batteries. You
need two and we can get them in this place itself. The first battery is to
the right of where Clementine is sitting on the ground -


The second battery is to the right of where Kenny, Katja and Duck are sitting
in the shelf -


After you get both the batteries, go back to Carly and give them to her. She
still cannot get it working so speak to her and take the radio again. Turn it
around and you can see that she put the batteries in the wrong way. Turn around
the batteries and then extend the antenna on the top.

Turn it back around and switch on the power button to get it working. If you
haven't already, talk to the people around here. Talk to Lily and then Kenny
has a lot to say. The guy who is standing guard Doug offers to take us outside
 - have a look. We can do that later so just get back to where Lily is sitting
and go into the room to their right. You can find a lot of things in this room
but two of them are very important to the game. The first is the picture of
the family which is beside the mattress on the ground -


Move the desk to the right which is blocking the door. Clementine will get cut
trying to help you and you can find a first aid kit to the right -


Apply the bandage on her wound and you get to see that the door to the office
is locked. 

The second thing is in the drawer of the desk to the left of this place -


First open the Drawer and then search it to get a remote. Take the remote. Go
back outside and talk to Carly again and after that, Clementine gets a
transmission on her walkie talkie from Glenn who went out earlier to get some
gas. It seems that he's in trouble. Then speak to Carly again and see if she
is ready to head out, if you say that you are ready too, you can continue to
the Motor Inn where Glenn went.

Motor Inn

First look to the left of the wall and you can see a pillow nearby, take it -


Then look right and walk over to the truck -


Then look to the left of this truck -


You see a rather lethargic dead guy. Use the pillow on him and see what happens

When you are here and after you kill the dead guy, open the door of this car
and take the spark plug which is on the seat -


Pull the gear into neutral and push this car. It blocks another zombie so
it's two down. When you are back to the first truck you hid behind, use the
spark plug on the window and break it. There's a nice Ice Pick on the seat of
this car take it and look to the left again and go behind the first wall you
were behind.

Look to the left and go over to the truck ahead. Look to the left of this truck
and whistle at the zombie. When it gets close enough, kill it and then kill the
next one which tries to jump at Glenn from behind. You come over to the zombie
which you blocked behind a car. Use the pick on it and then take the Axe
beside him here. Now, walk up the stairs and kill the two zombies here and
since the girl inside is not opening the door, chop the wood blocking it and
meet the girl in room 9.

The Girl in Room 9

You learn about the girl who came out and whatever you say or choose to do
things are going to end in the same way and you head back to the Drug Store.

Back at the store, speak to Glenn and Carly. Then go to Doug and agree to go
outside with him now.

Brother

Before you do anything, first have a look around at all the things. Look at the
TV store ahead and the hardware shop beside it. There's a dead guy to the right
who is trapped beneath the power pole. Now, we can start operation fool the
dead.

Firstly, use your remotes on the TV stores across and then speak to Doug. After
the TV's are on look at the dead guy trapped beneath the pole to the right and
show Doug the picture of the family -


                                     After he agrees that we should go get the
keys from him, use your axe on the lock. Open the door and take the brick
which is on the ground ahead. Throw the brick at the glass of the TV store.
Then run over to the trapped zombie and hit him with the axe a few times. Take
the keys from him and go back to the Drug store. Go back to the offcie and open
it with the keys but something very bad happens - really really bad.

Doug or Carly

The Alarm which you just tripped is like a calling card to all the dead within
the surrounding neighborhood. Help with the door ahead and let Carly go. After
that you lost the guys here one by one because they seem to have something
better to do. The zombies outside keep pushing the door, but you need to close
the door back if it opens -


When Clementine gets back with the stick, take it from her and use it to bolt
the door.

Keep doing this a few times and you even enter a quick time event similar to
the last one. After a lot of commotion, you need to make another choice - Doug
is to the left and Carly is to the right. Pick and person and save them and
between all of this, Clementine again gets caught by a zombie and so you need
to save her - again. Even after all that, the people start to head out and one
of them turns out a traitor but another helps us and we finally can get out of
this hole back to the Motor Inn.

Safe...Mostly

Back at the Motor Inn, it should seem that all the dead here have been killed
and stacked on one side. We are safe now - mostly.

You only need to go over each of the people here and listen to what they have
to say. Some of them threaten us while some take a liking to us, others are
indifferent and some even start crying. But we still are safe from the dead
for now. Talk to everyone and then the first episode ends.

EPISODE 2 PREVIEW

In the second episode of the game, the choices you made in the first episode
play out further. The two choices which have most effect are - your choice
between Doug and Carly. The second choice is if you were totally friendly with
Kenny or not.

The second episode is more about survival and blending in with other groups
than escaping from the zombies.
