Megapolis Walkthrough [Guide]

Everyone has their inner megalomaniacal tycoon, and they will finally be able to let go of their inhibitions as they take care of their very own city in Megapolis. Turn a sleepy city into a bustling metropolis as you control everything from population, production, transportation, trade, and many more. Be able to manage all aspects of your city and slowly turn it into an urban empire.

Gameplay
Megapolis requires players to perform tasks and carefully manage the resources that are required to build structures that will help your city grow. Being able to prioritize tasks is absolutely essential, and having a good balance of resources will allow you to expand your territory and improve your economy faster. There are also lots of social functions involved, so having a good number of friends who are playing alongside you and properly cooperating with them will ensure mutual improvement of your respective cities.

Currency
There are two types of currencies at play within Megapolis. The first type of currency is called coins, and these are the primary currency within the game. Coins can be earned in a variety of ways, such as collecting rent, taxes, and cashing in from contracts. Coins can also be rewarded when completing tasks. Coins can be used to purchase structures that you can use to further build on your city.

On the other hand, Megabucks are the premium currency of the game. These can be used in a variety of special ways, such as purchasing premium items or buying structures that are not yet available for you. Megabucks can also be used to speed up collection and manufacturing times. Megabucks are very scarce within the game, but you can get free Megabucks by participating in the many in game offers that pop up. Alternately, you can also purchase Megabucks using real life currency.

Population
Population is the measuring stick by which you can determine how successful your city is. By increasing your population, you will be able to collect more rent, as you would be able to build more houses to accommodate the influx of people. Building stores, decors, and other structures will slowly build up your population cap allowing more people to live in your city.

Water and Electricity
These are the two most important resources especially if you want to build factories, stores, and other structures that will earn you money. As in real life, these buildings will require both water and electricity, so players must be able to build power plants and water towers so that your electricity and water production would also increase in order to keep up with your buildings’ increasing demands.

Earning Money
There are several ways by which players can earn money organically. They can collect rent from houses as well as collect taxes from shops. In addition, players can also take out contracts on certain establishments, where players basically invest so that they would be able to create certain products. What’s good about this last method is that players can cancel a contract and get a part of their investment back. This is especially important if you need money fast and you would not mind losing a bit of cash on the way.

Different establishments have different wait times depending on how much money they will be earning for you. Make sure that you are able to collect from these establishments once earnings mature so that they can start earning money for you once again.

Special Projects
Special projects will rise up from time to time, which will require players to perform a series of tasks. Most of the time, this will require players to collect resources that they can ask from friends, or buy directly using Megabucks. Completing special projects will earn players a lot of rewards, and would further the progress of your city.

Special Offices
Aside from houses, factories, stores, parks, and the usual monument or two, Megapolis also allows players to build special offices that have special functions, but would require players to ask friends to staff the various positions available in them. An example of this is the city hall, which will allow for the automatic collection of taxes, and another is the tax office, which will allow players to adjust taxes for stores.

Leveling Up
Every action within Megapolis will earn players experience points, and once enough has been earned, players will level up. Reaching certain levels will unlock new buildings that can be built, and players would then be able to access new content the further they go along in the game.

Expansion
There will come a time where players will not have enough room to place structures like homes or other buildings. When this happens, players can expand their territory so they could have more room to build on. Expansion requires different costs, so you have many ways to expand your territory if one or two methods are not feasible.

Social Function
Megapolis relies heavily on social interaction. Players can invite Facebook friends to play and interact with them while playing. Once players have accepted your invitation, they can then help each other out in one of several ways. Players can visit friends’ cities and help out a certain number of times per day, which will earn you big rewards and important resources, as well as improve your popularity

Friends will also play huge roles as they can provide you with valuable resources for your special projects, allowing you to save your precious Megabucks. On the other hand, players should also help out their friends by sending gifts as well, which would help instill cooperation within the conjoined cities.

Bonus Deals
Players who continuously play Megapolis will be awarded with special rewards each day, culminating with one Megabuck for each fifth consecutive day. There are also lots of special deals and discounts that players can avail of, but most of which will require players to spend Megabucks. Still, you can get a good deal or two so it would be worth your while to check it out from time to time.
