Zombie Fish Tank Walkthrough [Guide]

Imagine being taken away, then experimented on and left for dead. Now, you’ve come back to life, or rather unlife, and you’re out to exact revenge on the evil scientists that made you who you are. This may sound like a superhero story, but this is the premise behind Zombie Fish Tank, the new arcade style game from Chillingo. The game requires players to eat everything in sight, at least those that are smaller than you, and at least until you increase in size enough to chomp at everything that comes your way.

Gameplay
Zombie Fish Tank utilizes tilt controls to navigate your character across the tank. Players must come close to smaller fishes to eat them, all the while avoiding fishes that can in turn gobble them up. The game makes this easier by giving larger predators with a red glow. As players eat and earn multipliers that can earn them score boosts, they will grow larger in size, and Rage Mode will be activated that will fill the screen with fishes and players can eat everything as fast as they could until the timer runs out.

Missions
Missions are divided in several stages that occur in different tanks. Each level has different tasks that must be completed, often with a certain time limit. Only by finishing all missions will succeeding sets be opened. Most mission sets will also end with a mini boss fight, so players must prepare themselves and properly equip themselves with powerups that will give them an edge in the fight.

Zomboil
Zomboil is the currency used within the game. players are rewarded with Zomboil depending on their score, and by completing tasks within each level. This currency may also be collected from special canisters as well as acquired via in-app purchases.

Canisters
Upon eating fishes, sometimes canisters will drop. Eating these canisters will have different effects, as some will allow you to collect zomboil, while others will make you small or poison you for an amount of time. Thus, it is important to look at where you’re going as well as what you’re eating in order to eating something that will not suit well with your appetite.

Store
The store is where players can spend their Zomboil by buying special fish and other powerups. different fishes will allow for certain boosts that can be used in game, while powerups are items that can be used to provide for a variety of effects such as increased speed, attracting fishes, and so on. Fishes are permanent purchases while powerups are consumables and must be purchased again once you run out of them. Knowing which fishes or powerups to use is often integral especially during the more difficult stages.

Tips and Tricks
As movements within the game require players to tilt their devices, make sure that you play in a comfortable position, preferably while sitting, especially if you will be playing for a long time. In addition, don’t forget to properly calibrate your device so that you will have an easier time making your fish go where you want him to go.

While actually playing the game, it would be prudent to stay near the middle of the screen as well as near the bottom of the tank. This way, you will have more time to maneuver as compared to the sides where bigger fish might suddenly appear. Also, try not to use too much speed when moving, unless of course if the mission is timed or if you are sure that they are no bigger fish lurking about.

Players must also be well aware of their surroundings, especially when warning signs appear on the edges of the screen. There are signs that something will suddenly appear from that area, and whatever will be appearing will not most likely be something that you’ll like.

Lastly, try to keep an eye out for canisters that appear during the game. These are treasure troves for currencies as well as perks that can help you finish missions faster. However, be aware that there are also canisters that will give you negative effects, so learn to differentiate one between the other and snap up the positive ones as soon as you can.
