Petey Pendant is on an adventure unlike no other, and his fate lies pretty much in your fingers. Sky Tourist is a game where players must guide Petey across the different worlds that he chooses to become his next destination, and although the journey can be fun, there are also some dangers ahead. Can you navigate the planets and give Petey the time or his life? Or will he experience the worst vacation ever?
Gameplay
Sky Tourist is a platform adventure game where players control two rockets located at the side of the screen. There is a rope between them, and tethered to that rope is your main character. By moving your fingers forward or backward, players can cause Petey to rise, fall, and slide from left to right and vice versa. Players must thus do this to navigate through the different worlds and avoiding obstacles such as spikes, lasers, and hostile natives.
Also, there are levers, switches, and different kinds of gates that can both open new paths as well as block old ones. Thus, players will often have to double back and find new paths, especially when trying to find cubelets and getting other items. There are checkpoints that players can reach, and the stage will end upon reaching totems. Some stages, however, will require the player to collect a glowing object, and only with this will the next stage be unlocked.
Currency
Cubelets are the main currency within the game. Cubelets can be gathered during gameplay, and these can be used to unlock further stages in the game. Also, Cubelets can be used to buy souvenirs from the souvenir shop, which are also required items to unlock a different planet. In addition, Cubelets can also be used to purchase customizations for your rockets as well as for your main character.
In-app purchases can be made to supply players with more Cubelets, and players may also unlock all other stages in this way. However, it would be much more challenging and fun to unlock all content by gathering all required items the normal way, by earning them through actual gameplay.
Stars
Each stage will provide you a maximum of three stars and a minimum of one star. Players will be rewarded with one star each for completing the level, not dying, and collecting all Cubelets in the level. Stars are important as a specific number is required to unlock the next planet.
Tips and Tricks
Avoid pulling at your rope too tightly by having the rockets move far apart from each other. This will cause the rope to snap, and Petey to fall. Also, objects like spikes, lasers, and some natives must be avoided, as they can also cause Petey some harm. When this happens, players will have to repeat the last checkpoint or the entire level altogether.
Be mindful of other objects that players can interact with. Levers, blocks, and other things in the environment can be moved to create new paths, although some would block them. Before moving something, try to visualize how it would affect your journey, although oftentimes some trial and error would also be required.
Some puzzles will have time restrictions. Most of the time, however, you have all the time in the world to make your move. Move slowly especially when there are dangers around you, as one wrong move may require you to retry thee level again.
Repeat completed stages especially if you have not acquired all items from that stage. All puzzles in Sky Tourist have been designed in such a way that all Cubelets and all locations can be collected and gone to, so go back to previous levels in order to get that last bunch of Cubelets or visit that hidden souvenir shop. This is especially important if you’ve finished all stages in a particular world and do not have all resources required to unlock the next planet yet.
