The Last of Us features a multiplayer mode called Factions. In this mode, players choose to either be on the side of the Hunters or the Fireflies, with the goal of sustaining their own group of survivors by collecting supplies, completing challenges, and surviving 12 weeks of in-game time. This guide will help you do just that.

01. HOW TO PLAY
—————————————————————————————-
Players have to collect supplies by doing well in matches and picking them off the dead bodies of enemy players. Supplies are represented by icons that look like blue barrels. Collecting supplies is also useful in feeding and improving your clan of survivors.
Survivors are earned also by doing well in matches. A certain amount of supplies needs to be collected in order to maintain the survivor population. If you fail to collect the needed amount of supplies every week, survivors can starve, become sick, and die. If your survivor count reaches 0, then you lose the game and will have to start over.
Every time you start up a new multiplayer campaign, you have to pick a side between the Fireflies or the Hunters. There is no difference between the two sides outside of cosmetic ones, and the challenges that the two sides will face will be different as well. Every few weeks, players will be tasked with a list of challenges to choose from. Upon picking a challenge, they have to successfully complete it or else they will lose a large amount of their survivor group or face other consequences.
The game will constantly be letting you know what your survivors are up to. You can choose to link your Facebook account to the game so that the names and pictures of real people you have on your Facebook account are used instead of the game’s fake, made up survivors. It adds an amusing, somewhat personal touch to the whole experience and I recommend pursuing it.
Here’s a list of multiplayer maps in the game:
Bill’s Town
Checkpoint
Downtown
High School
Lakeside
The Dam
University

02. MATCH TYPES
—————————————————————————————-
There are two different match types available in The Last of Us. They have similar goals, but there are different stipulations associated with each of the two different match types.
===========
SUPPLY RAID
===========
In this match type, there is a pool of respawns that everyone on your team shares. The first team to completely eliminate the enemy team wins. Another way to win is to have more live than the opposing team by the time the time run out.
==========
SURVIVORS
==========
The second match type in The Last of Us is much less forgiving. The goal is the same in the sense that you’re still killing off everyone on the opposing team, but expect players to be much more conservative thanks to the fact that there are NO respawns in this match type.

03. GEAR UP
—————————————————————————————-
===========
WEAPON LIST
===========
Weapons in the game can be customized in your Loadout. New weapons and weapon upgrades are unlocked by reaching supply milestones as well as leveling up. This is a list of all the weapons in the games based on their designation (i.e., small firearm, large firearm, and misc.). The misc. firearms are ones that have to be purchased either before matches or during matches, and afterwards, they don’t stay in your loadout due to how powerful they are.
Each loadout requires one small firearm, one large firearm, and then players can choose to add four different Survival Skills as well, which operate like perks in Call of Duty, but more on those in a little bit.
Small Firearms
—————-
9MM Pistol
Revolver
Shorty
Large Firearms
—————-
Bow
Burst Rifle
Hunting Rifle
Semi-Auto Rifle
Misc.
——

SURVIVAL SKILLS
==============
Players can choose to add four different Survival Skills to each of their different Loadouts (of which they can customize four). These skills are unlocked by collecting supplies and leveling up as well, but most of them can be unlocked by the time you hit the third level in the game. Most of them can also be upgraded later on.
The amount of “levels” each skill has is represented by the number in parentheses next to each skill name. The higher level you manage to get a skill, the better the stats are for each ability.
Please note that the descriptions of each skill is taken directly from in-game materials.
Brawler (2) – Craft modded weapons in half the time and they have an additional hit.
Collector (2) – Increases the number of parts you earn.
Covert Training (3) – Start with a shiv on each spawn.
Crafter (3) – Craft faster.
Explosion Expert (2) – The radius of your explosives is increased.
First Aid Training (3) – Use health kits faster.
Hawk-eyed (3) – Marks last longer. Aim at an enemy and click (R3) to mark.
Pistol Auto-zoom (2) – Zoom in while aiming a 9mm or Revolver.
Marathon Runner (2) – Sprint longer and sprint regenerates faster
Reviver (3) – Revive fallen teammates faster and with more health.
Sharp Ears (2) – The listen mode meter regenerates faster and you can stay in listen mode longer.
Sharpshooter (3) – Scope sway reduced and damage wobble reduced.
Strategist (3) – Know when you’ve been marked.

ONE-USE BOOSTERS
================
There’s also a variety of One-Use Boosters available to add to your class before matches. You’ll be asked to apply any you currently have before going into each match, but you can choose not to use any. There’s a wide variety of these. Some will give you cheaper ammo, while others make it so that you earn more parts for gun upgrades. Others still will upgrade the power of your weapons temporarily. These are earned by doing well in multiplayer and completing the challenges.
