Gameplay
Puzzle Defense: Dragons is a match three type game slash tower defense game where players are tasked to defend their kingdom against wave after wave of dragons with different strengths, health, and speed. Players must arrange randomly provided units into combinations of three or more, which would then cause them to transform into a more powerful unit. There are two kinds of game modes, both of which would be able to test your skill in planning your moves and forming your troops.

Currency
Coins are the game’s main currency. Coins are used whenever you would like to purchase items at the store, and even if you want to remove those pop ups that keep appearing each time you play. Coins are earned naturally through regular gameplay, but you may also opt to buy extra currency using real money. The more you spend, the more coins you will get to acquire.

Shop
The shop is where you can spend your earned or purchased coins during the game. The shop allows you to place units directly into the field without waiting for it to appear in the queue or having to transform it manually. It also offers different kinds of powerups such as the ability to move your units or automatically upgrade them. Spend your coins wisely in this area as you’ll never know when you’ll need them, so it would be wise to not rely on the shop all the time.

Stars
Under Campaign Mode, players will get to earn stars for each stage that they play. Players can earn a maximum of three stars depending on their performance. In order to get all stars, time is considered, as well as the number of units remaining and used. Thus, you would really have to put in your best effort should you want to collect all stars.

Game Modes
Puzzle Defense: Dragons offers players two kinds of game modes, namely Campaign and Battle. Campaign Mode follows a thin storyline that players must go through round by round. Each level also increases in difficulty. On the other hand, Battle Mode plays out as a game of survival as there are endless waves that would come along, and the ultimate goal is to survive for as long as you can before getting overrun completely. Both modes would allow players to earn extra coins, and gameplay is essentially the same as well.

Tips and Tricks
Always maintain your best formation. Some prefer to form stronger units at the forefront, while others would feed pawns so that they can strengthen their forces near the bottom of the screen. Both strategies can be utilized, although players should take caution because there’s a limit as to how many of your units would be killed before you are defeated. The dragons do not need to invade you to defeat you, as simply wiping out enough forces would be enough.

It is also important to note that, when combining units, some units of the similar type may also disappear. This may ruin our plans so make sure to spread out troops and only group together units that you plan to combine later on. Also, you can take advantage of chains where in newly transformed units would trigger other combinations. Know where new units would appear so that you can instantly create even more powerful units with less moves.

Take advantage of the reserve slot where you can place units that you do not want to deploy yet. Use this as a piece of strategy especially if you are waiting for the right situation to place that unit, primarily if you want to have a more powerful unit placed exactly where a tough dragon would approach, or if you are waiting to make a good match.

It would also be wise to save your coins. Don’t spend them during the earlier parts of the game as you would probably need them later on, especially when waves come in bigger numbers and at a faster rate. Concentrate your purchases on powerups rather than on additional units, as the latter would have a much higher chance of appearing in the queue than the former.

Lastly, make sure to always cover all areas of the field. Don’t concentrate on just where the dragons are starting to appear as inevitably, they will be appearing on all sides, and you might not have the time to form units at the less defended area before the dragons would be able to approach.
