1. Introduction
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The side quests in Guacamelee! Super Turbo Championship Edition can be done
at any point during the game, assuming you have the correct abilities to
complete the quests at the time. I recommend saving the side quests for the
end-game so you have all of the abilities at your disposal, which makes
completing them significantly easier.
You can do the side quests in any order. I have listed in the side quests
based on location for ease of use.

2. Canal de las Flores
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
The spooky Canal de las Flores is the bayou of Guacamelee!, and it has some
quests of its own to complete.
======
ALUXES
======
This quest technically takes place in both Pico de Gallo as well as the
Canal de las Flores, but I a putting it in the Canal de las Flores section as
the bulk of the quest takes place here.
First visit Pico de Gallo and have the Dead Zone activated. Speak to the
skeleton in the purple shirt outside of the house with the shining door. He
will give you the side quest to destroy five Aluxes. If you complete this
quest, he will let you inside of his home to loot his basement.
Alux 1 – Fast travel to Canal de las Flores and then go to the upper right
corner of the map. There will be a block in your way, but you can make it
disappear by switching to the dead zone. Kill the Alux inside and then continue
your hunt.
Alux 2 – Open your map. Look at the checkpoint/shop that is directly beneath
your current position on the map (the area where you kill the first Alux). Go
there to find a small area that you can move through in chicken form. You will
find a purple block here. Use the Pollo Bomb to destroy the purple block. If
you don’t have the Pollo Bomb yet, you can get it by going to El Diablo’s lair
and complete the Infierno challenges with at least 10 gold medals.
Anyway, destroying the purple block will lead you to a quick maze. Complete the
maze and you will find the second Alux near a sign that says Barro Kart, an
obvious joke about Mario Kart. You have to be in the dead zone to see him and
the sign. Kill him.
Alux 3 – Re-enter the Canal from the forest area. Keep going to the right of
the map until you’re about in the center area, the place where there are
logs slightly sticking out of the water that you can platform on. Turn into a
chicken and fly straight up and to the right o find a giant. Kill the giant and
then move beyond him to the next screen and kill the Alux here.
By the way, if you don’t have the ability to fly as a chicken yet, you need to
go get it. To get this ability, you have to collect all of the orbs in the
game, sans the one you get for defeating the final boss.
Alux 4 – Pop open the map again and check out the shop closest to the Forest
del Chivo exit. Directly across the shop to the right is the path to the next
Alux. You’ll know you’re going the right way when you encounter a giant
chicken. Zoom up the wall and go the right as soon as you can to come across
the next Alux and kill him.
Alux 5 – In the big area (just before you get to the giant chicken part
described in Alux 4), use a combination of dash, uppercut, and goat fly to
reach the top. If you need a better idea of where you need to go, turn into a
chicken and fly to the ceiling to spot the red blocks that are impeding the
progress to the next Alux. Break through and then kill the Alux here and just
drop straight back down.
With all five of the Aluxes defeated, report back to the quest giver in Pico de
Gallo and loot his basement as promised.

CRAB HERDING
============
There is a town at Canal de las Flores. Visit it and go to the building with
the swordfish on its front. Speak to the man standing outside of it to get the
quest, and then go inside of the building.
This is a “herding” quest, of which there are a couple in the game to complete.
This one requires you to knock the orange crabs into the orange colored pen and
the purple crabs into the purple colored pen.

3. Pueblucho
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
One of the first towns encountered in the game, Pueblucho is a lively place
full of goodies for the initiated that want to search for them.
===============
CHICKEN HERDING
===============
Talk to the man that is standing outside Casa del Pollo. He needs his chickens
herded into a pen. Enter Casa del Pollo and knock the chickens into the pen
and then report back to the sombrero guy to complete the quest.

DOLL
====
On the left side of Pubelucho is a two story house. Go inside to find a
grieving mother talking about the toy her dead daughter used to play with.
Switch to the “dead zone” to gain access to the toy, which is located at the
bottom of the house.
Retrieve the toy. Then take it to the dead girl that is sitting at the top of
the stairs and give her toy back to her.

4. Santa Luchita
- – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - – - -
My personal favorite town in the game is Santa Luchita. It definitely has the
most entertaining side quests, that’s for sure.
=============
CHICKEN THIEF
=============
What is it with so many side quests in this game involving chickens in some
way, shape, or form? At any rate, this one will be unlocked when you enter
Santa Luchita from the desert path. A chicken will run by and steal from a
man there. Talk to him to get the quest to hunt down the chicken and retrieve
the dude’s stuff.
The chicken is in the house that is directly to the right of the billboard
featuring PWG/Chikara professional wrestler Player Uno. It is a pink house. Go
inside to find the chicken and his two friends. They move around to try to
make you lose which chicken is the thief.
Don’t be fooled by the colorig of the chickens. It’s a lighting thing, not
indicative of which chicken is which. You just need to follow the thief chicken
to the best of your ability (he’s the one that talks) and pick him out a total
of three times. The order is random each time, so that makes it somewhat more
difficult.

=============
COMBO CHICKEN
=============
Combo Chicken’s Gym can be found in Santa Luchita. Go here every time you
unlock a new ability to complete a series of combos that are given to you by
the Combo chicken. They ramp up in difficulty every time, but you should be
able to get them all down with a bit of practice.

=====
ERROR
=====
Right beneath the shop in Santa Luchita is a door marked Super Siesta. Go
inside this door and speak to the woman in here. It seems that her brother
has gone missing. Turn into chicken form and jump through the small gap in
the wall. The brother will talk to you from the wall below.
Leave the building and then drop down one floor and go through the next door.
Flip between the two worlds to get to the brother and talk to him. Now return
to the sister on the top floor and tell her of your discovery.

=======================
GREATEST ENCHILADA EVER
=======================
Speak to Isabaella in Isabella’s Kitchen. She wants the ingredients to create
the world’s greatest enchilada, so it’s time to collect those ingredients for
her.
Beans – To get the beans, enter Santa Luchita from the Sierra Morena entrance.
Drop down the first chance you get to find a red house with a lucahdor painted
on the side of it. There is a woman here walking back and forth with a basket
on her head. Speak to her to get the beans.
Cheese – Drop all the way down to the bottom of the town. Speak to the man
that is to the immediate let of the mine entrance, standing on the platform.
He will provide the cheese necessary for the greatest enchilada ever.
Chiles – Switch to the “dead zone” and go to the large flight of stairs in the
middle of the town. Across from the middle of the landing on the stairs is a
skeleton standing on a platform. Talk to him for some undead chiles. That will
spice it up, eh?
Tortillas – To the right of Isabella’s kitchen is the two story inn called
Super Siesta. At the bottom of the inn are two shut double doors. Standing
in front of them is a woman in a pink dress (make sure you’ve switched back
to the living zone to see her). Talk to her to get a TON of tortillas!
These four ingredients are all you need to make the greatest enchilada ever.
Return to Isabella so that she can cook it up. Now Juan is a part of history!

=============
MARIACHI BAND
=============
Speak to any of the mariachi band members in Santa Luchita, and they will tell
you of their missing bandmate. Go to the bottom of Santa Luchita. To the
left of the path to El Diablo’s lair is a pinkish building. Go inside the
building to find a blue block. Break it to find the missing band member.
