GMP is basically the currency for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain and it is also the reward at the end of each mission, that can be increased by completing various side tasks. Since it is essential for almost everything in The Phantom Pain, this guide contains tips on how to easily make enough GMP so that you never have to grind for it.
Side Ops are essentially very short missions in the game that take place at repeating locations from the main missions, or throughout some of the random locales on the world map. These Side Ops are usually short but do have a hefty reward for completing them. They can result in recruiting valuable soldiers for the Mother Base, gathering blueprints for new weapons/items, or give an insight on the game’s story. Some of the Side Ops are actually essential to the game and ignoring them is definitely not recommend because you will be missing out on a lot of what makes the game fun including Quiet as a “Buddy”.
In addition to these rewards, each of the Side Ops also reward the player with a good chunk of GMP currency. Since they are easy to complete than main story missions and there are more than hundred of them, they are a good source for GMP currency.
Diamonds are identified by their glow that can be spotted from far away. They are usually hidden next to a set of materials that can be looted in the game’s outposts, camps or military bases. They are mostly hidden under a table/chair or other random location but some of them are also hidden in secret locations like a random rooftop or under some subway.
Diamonds reward some healthy dose of GMP currency starting as low as 10000 GMP. It is highly recommend to investigate any location that gives out a glow of light indicating it is a Diamond. If you want to get a more precise location for them on the map, you can interrogate a guard and he will reveal the location of all the materials including Diamonds.
You can collect various materials throughout the game. They are also essential in expanding your Mother Base but if you don’t have any use for them, or are in a desperate need for some GMP, selling them can provide a good source of GMP in the game.
As is the case with Diamonds, you can try interrogating a Guard to provide you location of every material hidden at a particular area on the map. It should help in making them easier to gather, even if you leave some of them behind, you can pick them up later when you return to the same location.
Once you have built a combat unit and recruited enough soldiers on your Mother Base, you will be able to send them to various dispatch missions throughout the world map. These missions will take some in-game time once they are activated, just like it happens when we expand a part of our Mother Base. Once the mission is competed, the players will get valuable rewards including GMP and new recruits/items while doing absolutely nothing.
The important thing to note here is to make sure that when you initiate a mission, you select the one with the highest probability of success so it is best to use this feature wisely and don’t become too greedy with it, risking the life of your valuable Mother Base soldiers.
