The news is quite surprising for everyone, because no one knew that Uncharted 4 is going to be a different game than it used to be.
It is being developed by the Last of Us team who are a different wing in Naughty Dog.
About a year ago, the production and design was under the control of an Amy Hennig the lead writer of the Uncharted series. But, when she suddenly left her job, things changed and the next big team which was capable of handling such a huge exclusive franchise was the ones who have had experience with the Last of Us. The team wasn’t so happy with the game and decided to scrap off a lot of work so that they could do it in their own style. It’s not wrong but it is definitely going to be different than the games that people are used to on the Playstation 3 console.
Same but Different
The phrase, same but different is what the head of Naughty Dog has been repeatedly using these days. “When Amy left the job, we really didn’t have a choice and there was no time to form a new team. Instead, we went for the next big team in the company who have already delivered a blockbuster. They have definitely done a great job which was evident at E3 this year but the final product is something we are waiting to see,” said Druckmann.
Uncharted 4 – A Thief’s End is going to be fun, has lots of action and is an adventure game as it has always been with the same characters. But, the treatment will be different. As players already loved what they did with the Last of Us, Naughty Dog is really confident that this team could deliver it one more time. They have earned the respect to do such a big exclusive on the Playstation 4 console for the first time.
Open World, Vehicles
For the first time, Uncharted 4 is going to feature vehicles. It was something that should have been added a long time back but the developers say that the hardware didn’t allow them to move further. But, things have changed and on the PS4, the team is going to push everything and even experiment with a bit of open world gameplay if not a completely new game.
