Bionic Commando Rearmed is a Capcom抯 latest released video game. Developed and published by CapCom, the game is an enhanced remake of the 1988 bionic Commando that was released on NES. CapCom employed the same developers for this remake who had worked on the original title for Nintendo Entertainment system. Original BC was a 2D game but this new Bionic commando Rearmed is a platform based action video game with lot of interactive features. It was released on August 13, 2008 and has been released on PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade and Windows XP and Windows Vista based PC. You can play it in both single player version and in co-op online mode including deathmatch. Bionic Commando Rearmed is available as a digital download only. No free download exists for the game.

This game has brought back the days of NES. Bionic Commando Rearmed is homage to the classic 8-bit NES game. The game would have released in May but CapCom delayed the release until August. Now this game features lot of new incorporations to the original game. Bionic Commando Rearmed includes advanced health system where player抯 health improves after collecting health items. Weapons have been highly improved in this version of the game. Player can change weapons at the runtime just as in games like IGI Covert Strike and code of Honor 2. Player can simply scythe the enemy network by solving 3D puzzle. Bionic Commando Rearmed imposes several challenges to the player to be completed in a desired period.

The story of the Bionic Commando Rearmed follows in the form of series of levels. Player takes the role of Nathan Rad Spencer who has been enhanced with bionic arm. This bionic arm can be used to reach distant places through the grappling hook that it features. If the destination is too far, player may need to perform series of grappling actions until he finishes off the level. Maps are also provided in the Bionic Commando Rearmed video game. These are the tactical maps highlighting friendly and enemy areas. In multiplayer version, different players can compete in co-operative mode. There is also a deathmatch mode for the bionic Commando Rearmed.

IGN gave the game 9.5 out of 10 rating. Similarly other reviewers have rated Bionic Commando Rearmed greatly. The game was well received with big applause. IGN has referred it as the best downloadable game for the XBLA and PSN. Graphics and AI was highly praised. Soundtracks were also released that can be downloaded free. However, I wonder why Capcom didn抰 make available any Bionic Commando Rearmed free trial version. There was a demo released but I couldn抰 find it anywhere. If there is a digital download available then why not demo version download. Isn抰 it good to try before you buy?
