You need to constantly upgrade your gear, carry the smallest bags, and make sure you have all the shiniest enchants that you can get. If you can find that you can do all of these things you will find it easy to level broke in World of Warcraft.
Constantly upgrade your gear.
Hands-down, the best way to be broke in World of Warcraft is to constantly upgrade your gear. It does not matter how small of an upgrade a particular piece would be, you should be upgrading that gear every opportunity. Often times, you'll find two very similar pieces in the auction house for a given level. You should go out of your way to buy both pieces, because you never know when you'll need the other.
Of course, blues and purples are the best gear in the game, so this is where the majority of your gold should go. The way I look at it, twinks should not be the only ones to love this gear. Who cares if it's only going to get for few levels, we just need to make sure that we spend the money on it because we want to look good.
Carry the smallest bags.
When you create a character in World of Warcraft, you are initially given a 16 slot bag. Honestly, this is more than the broke leveler will ever need. The only thing you need room for is anything that you want to buy. Why waste your time picking up an item that may sell for a few silver, when you would rather care that I am that you spent your hard-earned gold on. You may even find yourself wishing that you just started out with a six slot bag because the 16 slot bag takes up too much screen space.
Buy all the shiny enchants.
The last thing that you need to make sure you buy is the highest level enchants as you possibly can. The low level enchants, while they may be fine for most characters, will be a slap in the face to you. The big money is on the high-level stuff, so that's what we want to spend our gold. There are some exceptions, but otherwise this rule definitely applies.
